So, it seems that we’ll have this problem ongoing even into the new year. Thanks really for the holiday events etc, but unfortunatelly, many of us cannot even smell it, not to mention complete anything as many of us have very limited time to play after work.
As I can see it, since the holidays are here, the servers will be flooded with players all day long, so we can expect more of this issue during the day ?!

So I’ve been getting the same problem as many others, knowing that on different networks it works perfectly, maybe it is a server issue.
i also noticed that when i look into resmon on the run TAB, that the ports has changed. i usually do that to check the latency.

Hello everyone,
i know that this can be quite frustrating, so i was seriously considering other MMOs, however just at that very last moment of making my decision i was able to solve the problem.

here is what i did,
look on google for a program called WTFast, this program promises a faster, smoother, stronger online game connection. note that you will be using it for a different purpose.
it is free to use don’t worry about it,
1. login
2. Configure
3. Browse and select Gw2.exe
4. it prompts you to choose an optimal server ( here choose anything that is different from your current region/location) for instance i went for LosAngeles server.
5. Play! ( here gw2 is automatically launched and you will be able to login normally.)

Please know that i am not sure if using such a way is legal according to anet, since you will have to authenticate your new IP in order to access the game.

i don’t really know if logging in with many new IPs in such a short period would raise a question mark, well what i am doing to avoid this is i never log out it takes me back to that character select screen, and minimize if i want to work on something else.

One more thing, you will be doing that on your own responsibility, Wtfast makes serious changes to your laptop , also while i was trying to download it the site actually had some viruses but thankfully my antivirus denied me access and i tried a different site.
but desperate times call for desperate measures !

I haven’t been able to log in all day with errors at the launcher (42:1000:7006:1215). Ran the ping tests and see 89% loss for a hop at ncnet:

anyway I was finally able to get on for the daily by using the WTFast vpn that Ordo mentions above. Was sketched out by it initially because it looks quite tacky with flames and such but by connecting from Belgium it worked. I’m located in the UK if that’s relevant. The program is mentioned favourably around Steam forums and other places so that helped me get over the fear. I don’t endorse this product and can’t vouch for anything except that it did get me connected. Please get it sorted A-net.

P.S. love the new dailies, keep up the positive changes! <3

Hello good people

My tempban has been lifted and I’m back to report it hasn’t helped the server issues at all. The game remains unplayable from around 6PM to 10-11PM GMT+1, and since banning me from the support forums (how kittened is that, anyway?) hasn’t helped, maybe it’s time to think outside the box. The issue has been well documented and I have no idea what information to add at this point, besides

OMG just bought this game and have enough problems with trying to download it as i finally got it to download, now im getting this error code 42:0:9001:4409 when i try to sign in. Im in California (comcast) How am i expected to get this fixed? ive tried so many things to see if it works and hasnt came down to the solution….. Im gonna want a refund soon if this doesnt get fixed!!!! 17h, got dc/d 7x from wvw in 10 min.the game is unplayable.
I wonder if is there si anyone reading this from the devs, with a tiny bit of decensy,
thinking / hey, that is not nice, they pay us money for somehing and we delive nothing beause we just want more new player to buy the game, not actually play, just buy …

this is realy our fault, games with monthly fee take care of their player base .here we just get recicled old events that are even more bugged then last year. are they making some other game, is gw2 actually finished ??

Got the same problem as everyone else, and it seems to be happening around the same time every day which is a terrible inconvenience since it’s around the time when people get home and are able to play. About some time after 1800 GMT+1.

ok ive had this problem since 3 weeks it happens every eavning
my skills stop working and the i get conection lost
this happens to none of the other online games i play
its not my internet connection
all my ports are open (i have direct optical fiber wire 1GBs)
when the skills stop working i look at resource monitor and my latency is 1.800/4.000
ive spoken to my provider and its not on their end
i reinstalled the game
deleted all the files manualy
still nothing
i tried the diagnostic and the repair and they came out ok
so i have no clue

Route through Telia.net was always a problematic one but now it’s even worse…is there any way to somehow change Telia.net route to another one without using WTFast or VPN?

I used to play with a friend, and he couldn’t log in for 1 MONTH. We all PAID for this game and we don’t get a simple response from the admin/GM. So, what are you waiting for? This problem must be solved.

nope still wont let me play
i brought the game Friday and installed it on the same day how ever when i try and log in i get error 42 and i turned off the firewall messed with my router all day Saturday and did all the little bits of code people say, i used the cyberghost and im not on a campus, uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, restarted my computer many times.
Ive never played the game before and i cant even log into my account, please help is there anything else, also there is nothing to help on arena net or guild wars 2’s supp pages

here we go again … for a while it was ok. today Dragon Bash update, I can not log in.
error code
managed after an hour to log in, nothing works, my char is standing in one place and when I try to interact with the merchant nothing happens. I love this game. I hate the ppl who makes it un/playable for many of us, because they / do not care, do not know how to fix anything and even when it is working they manage to break it again and again …
new events, updates are great but this, this is awful.
