My friend receives this page of text, or
occasionally just a regular ‘server error’ when
they attempt to link their GW accounts.

They only recently got their gw1 back after
having it hacked (likely) and requesting a PW
reset. Is there a chance it’s already been
linked to to someone else’s GW2 account?

Two things. Have him log into the GW 1 account. If the information to log in is the same as the GW 2information they are likely linked. If it’s different have him use a different browser and see if he gets the same error page.

EDIT: Can’t access forums? I assume you mean he’s just not where he can log in right now? If not how is he logging in to link accounts?

He’s tried logging in to gw1 and it’s still using his old e-mail/pass, no it isn’t linked. He’s tried another browser and it displays the same error. He can log in to the website fine, and access his account, but it logs him out again when he attempts to view the forums, and doesn’t accept his acct/pass

That sounds pretty strange one last ditch effort is of course for him to try it on another computer he trusts is secure although with him having the problem in two different browsers I am not sure it would work there either. But try that as a last ditch effort if it displays the same error, and IE and Firefox/Chrome all display the error then the only thing he can do is put in a ticket and wait for support to respond.
