I have a Lenovo T530 with a NVDIA NVS 5400M GPU and Ivy Bridge CPU. I’ve been wondering if it is possible when I hook up an external monitor, can I have the NVIDIA unit power my laptop display and the Intel HD 4000 power the external monitor? Right now its reversed where the NVIDIA unit is running the external.

I want to switch this around so I can have GW2 running on the laptop display at decent settings (its 1366×768 vs external is 1920×1080, so easier to run at better settings at lower resolution) and have the external up for internet browsing etc.

That seems like something that would be better asked of Lenovo, not Arena Net or Guild Wars 2. It would likely be a BIOS setting or configurable through a Lenovo utility or Windows driver configuration, if it’s something that can changed by the user.

I would think that GW2 would be “at the mercy” of whatever display driver that DirectX/Windows chose to connect it to when the game asked DirectX/Windows what kind of hardware it was running on. I don’t think that GW2 is able to tell DirectX/Windows what driver to use for a particular display device.
