Is anyone else having extreme lag issues after this last patch(es)?

The game is now almost unplayable for me. When I am able to stay logged on for more than five minutes, everything is delayed and the fps is so bad that everything is ‘jerky.’

Before anyone asks, I have changed nothing on my settings (everything is set to low) and there are no other programs running in the background. The problem did not start until the latest patch update.

The last straw was tonight when I was fighting Tequatl the Sunless. It was a complete and total mess. My character attacks would not respond, my character would stand in a clear area and suddenly die for no reason (that I could see, and I have learned to be very aware of what is on the ground during that fight), the waves would go right through me without knocking me back or dishing out damage (not complaining about that one, but it’s still not supposed to do that), my character would also disappear and reappear in completely different locations, and then she would get stuck on an invisible wall. All of this happened while I maintained a solid cripple debuff (which surely that can’t be a new feature… at least not for as long as I kept it).

Am I the only one suffering from this? I would sure appreciate some advice from anyone who has some to offer.

Yes, I’m also having extreme lag since the patch hit.

Though this seems pretty common after any major update to the game and it affects some players and has done since release. I personally noticed it around a year ago, with odd lag spikes and/or disconnects affecting me shortly before the patch would hit then for quite some time after, rendering the game unplayable.

As for advice on how to fix it, I’m afraid there isn’t much credible advice, at least not in my eyes. I’ve tried several methods to fix it, contacting support & going through a fruitless procedure of testing for packet loss & being told “It’s your ISP’s fault” then contacting my ISP and being told there’s nothing abnormal on their end. Switching from a wireless to a cable connection didn’t help, nor did trying any 3rd party programmes, closing all other windows while GW2 was up or altering clientports. Of course these are methods which are supposed to help so perhaps you’ll have more luck than I did; submitting a ticket to support, browsing the support area of the sight (tab found at the top of the page) and altering clientports would be your best options.

Other than that I’m afraid it’s a waiting process for some, myself in included. I haven’t been able to play since patch hit & I’m simply waiting for the lag to blow over.

I experienced a big lag spikes, instant deaths, disappearing NPCs in the Blazeridge Steppes yesterday around the midday. In the evening, everything was smooth.

+1 to big lagspikes here.

Friend in the nearest city is also reporting them.

The weird thing is when all the NPCs disappear, and then seconds later, all your HP are removed and you insta-die.

Same thing for me. It started literally right after I downloaded that patch. Sometimes I activate a skill and it doesn’t go off for a full minute after. Yesterday I tried doing guild missions with my guild and everyone was rubberbanding around. My ping normally stays around 50 and since the patch it sometimes jumps as high as 450. Even if my ping stays at 50 I still have extreme skill delay.

im lagging hard also its really annoying got kicked of tequatl map multiple times also effecting my performance in pvp also a guildie of mine is having the same problem lag/dc it was never like this to me i usually have a stable good ping and never dc

I’ve posted fully about this over on the “Very high ping since 23 June 2015 update” topic as while I’ve been lagging I’ve seen the ping spikes at the same time, sometimes past 2000.
