Guild Wars 2

I’ve tried everything i can at this point and I just need a little input seeing as how I know little to nothing about computers.

(FLAME THE NOOB!!!)

I’ve had no problem running the game on medium settings (recommended and shadows OFF) then I noticed in large events I got so laggy I could barely move, WVW is so bad for me I can’t even seem to play it’s just to much my FPS goes right to 5 or less. Running around in pve it the fps is around 25-40. When I go into WVW its 20- pvp is fine, large events it’s 15-20 laggy but playable for the most part just really annoying.

I have an Alienware so I can’t DL’ed the new beta video driver by Nvida.

ram: 3.9 GB
Windows 7 64-bit
Video GeForce GT 335M

Is it ME or is it the game? I see a lot of people having a FPS problem and don’t know if I should stop stressing about it (I can’t seem to enjoy the game knowing i wont be able to take part in large events or wvw) or if i should try something else… Thoughts?

It’s a known issue specially on large wvw fights. The problem also lies with your CPU it doesn’t have enough horsepower.

Ah that sucks. Really bad. since this comp is only a year old and I bought it in hopes it would be powerful enough to play newer games. I’m guess i would just need to buy a whole new computer?

Heres your issue. Your running an incredibly weak laptop, its not even capable of playing modern games properly. I personally game on a very powerful desktop, but i also own a laptop with Intel core I5 CPU @2.4ghz,6gb ram, and a GT540M and i can run GW2 on medium settings with “decent” FPS. My suggestion to you would be to turn EVERY setting as low as possible. Or buy a new laptop or desktop.

Alienwares are usually overpriced you can find similarly priced laptop with decent and more powerful specs.
