FPS Performance..
Well it should be something with your resolution
my setup:
I5 4440 3.10GHz
8GB Ram 1333MHz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 760
Win 10 PRO
Even in 1920×1080 I get poor fps performance also.
First make a picture like this and make sure your GPU runs @x16
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
It seems like it’s obvious that the GW2 engine is not accommodating or powerful enough to utilize hardware in certain open world maps.
It angers me that the latest and greatest zone; i.e. map Lions Arch can’t utilize hardware to a certain degree.
PLease forgive my ignorance and novice state. What am I suppose to think?
There has been a lot of problems with W10 and Nvidia drivers. Try several, also quite old, from last year and look if you still have such problems.
You might want to overclock that cpu to 4.0 or 4.2, and put shadows to high, reflections to terrain and sky, character model limit to medium and have effect LOD enabled (these are the most taxing cpu settings)
i7 5775c @ 4.1GHz – 12GB RAM @ 2400MHz – RX 480 @ 1390/2140MHz
put shadows to high, reflections to terrain and sky, character model limit to medium and have effect LOD enabled (these are the most taxing cpu settings)
And Supersampling off(=Native) would be the next setting id lower, after all, is it really needed with 3×1080p and high SMAA?
Thanks for response everyone.
First of all. I’ve tried various different settings SMAA high low, No AA, shadows off ect ect ect. Checked PCI bus, x8/x16. no difference what so ever. Currently DDU’ing drivers for a fresh reinstall see if that helps.
So glad Im not the only one with this issue, I’ve tried everything too – changing settings from NVidia panel, using boosters for gaming performance, re-installing the game, network and speedtests, also contacted support but they also don’t know what it is as of yet, always playing in lowest of graphics and always getting around 2-4FPS, 20 if I’m just walking on my own and the area is empty.
- Note that when I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 I ended up having 4 different versions of GW2 buried in random places in program files and appdata, really was a pain to find, the initial game wouldn’t even show in the control panel to uninstall properly. Had to find them all manually and delete the folders, but nope, still the same thing happening.

What about the picture i requested ? Have you checked that your GPU uses
all 16 PCIe lanes ?
That is the most common problem for low FPS and often reseating your GPU helps.

they use both 2.0×8 atm. but everything is as is previous to driver and game updates?
I could manage x2 the fps I’m getting now with all settings and such the same?

It must show @x16 2.0 when the game is running .. else the card is either in the wrong
slot or simply has contact problems. So make sure that card is in slot next to your
CPU and reseat it.

i’ll change slots but I’m pretty sure theres no bottleneck what so ever between x16 and x8.
