here’s my rig:
i5 2500k 4.3ghz
7950 3gb (12.11b drivers)
8gb ddr3 1600mhz
coolermaster gx650w bronze
why am i having FPS drops in Lion’s arch and some areas?… my system is not top of the line but it’ll sure eat GW2’s system requirements for breakfast.. it is really weird… any thoughts?

edit: I want to add before this last patch, I was getting 50-60 fps in LA. Just depends on what they’re doing at the moment there, but it’s always pretty bad.

It’s all the effects they added, fog included.

Nah, no effects like fog in LA ;p It has to do with that statue that is normally there in the middle of LA. Whether its there or not, there is always problems there.
You’ll notice in any other part of LA, you’ll get higher FPS, but when you get to the middle and look around where the statue is (or was) it always dips.

I have been getting this as well, but what fixes it for me is alt tabbing out then back in. But it seems to be tied to the waypoints and/or loading screens. I was waypointing all over getting the snowmen and it seemed like almost every waypoint my fps would drop to anywhere from 4-48 (usually a constant 60 fps) until i alt tab then alt tab back.

btw, the i’ve getting worst FPS in the black lion trading area… its dipping to about 20FPS >.>
