I used to average 30-40 fps, but this past week I’ve noticed a major loss of fps. Now guild wars 2 is running around 8-12 fps.

system: windows 8.1
graphic card: amd radeon hd 7700

I’ve gone so far to uninstall my ati drivers (which were the most recent). trying the drivers before the most recent. uninstalled those. went back to the most recent drivers.

defragged the guild wars 2 folder with contig.

ran some tests on my system to see all the components are still functioning at the same specs and speeds. i’m good there.

also tested the card on some fps shooters and its still running smooth there.

i’m finding guild wars 2 now unplayable, whereas, it ran just fine for the past two months. any other amd users finding a similar situation since the last update?

I’ve just returned back in the game after a 15 months period break, so cannot comment on how GW2 was a couple of month ago. I remember GW2 to run smoothly, but at the moment the game is completely unplayable.

I run around with similar FPS to yours 5-15, and even selecting ‘best performance’ does not improve much ..

My system is W7, with i7 2.67Ghz, 12 Gb or Ram and radeon HD8580.
I am aware of some guild mates with pcs with much lower specs, yet GW2 runs with much better performance that mine.
Any idea how to troubleshot/submit a case to Anet for this?

Yup same here. Started playing again 3 weeks ago with an average 45-60 fps. For almost a week or so it has dropped to an average 20-30 fps. Around the same time massive lags started to occur almost every day whereas I could play lag-free in the 2 weeks till then.

My system is W8.1, I5-3570 3.40GHz, Gtx 460 1gb gddr5, 8gb ddr3 ram

I’ve been having a similar issue, I noticed an overall decrease in my fps. Not just that, but I’ve actually had complete system crashes and my computer restarts. It started off with a weird audio bug where my sound would be gone and I would lose fps and I would have to do a hard restart on my system.

My system: Windows 8.1, i7 – 4960k @ stock, gtx 780, 16 GB DDR3 RAM, Seasonic 1000W platinum psu

edit: other games run fine, so I dont think its my gpu.

I’m having this problem also. I upgraded from vista to windows 7 over the weekend and my FPS have gone through the floor. I use to be able to run around with most settings on high for normal play.(dungeons, events on maps Not world bosses or big WvW zergs.) but now with everything set to low, lowest and none I’m lucky to get between 12-15 FPS.
Seeing as my system was built to run windows 7 it’s not a problem with that as I only used Vista as I used to work for a major IT company and got vista really cheap so went for that rather than pay full price for 7 at the time of my pc’s build. But through work I got an up graded disc to 7. So I did that, clean install or all drivers(got most recent from manufacturers) every other game I own still runs great. Some I’ve seen a boost in FPS.
My specs are:
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 (with all current updates as of last night.)
Intel duel core 2 @2.40ghz
Gigabyte motherboard. GA-G31M-S2L
4GB DDR2
BFG 9800 GT 3GB DDR3.
1000W PSU. Sweetx.

Logged out yesterday completely fine. Logged in today into unplayable game. FPS 5-10 right after logging in or switching characters, it goes up to 25-30 after a while but only if I stand still – any, and I mean ANY camera rotation immediately causes lag and FPS loss.

I’ve rolled back my drivers by 1. I’ve ganed some FPS, and can play the game like I use to beable to. The in game FPS is running at 12-15 with some high settings like terrain, reflections and character textures, also with beat texture filter on. It’s not quite as good as it was, but it’s getting there. Will try rolling back to earlier drivers and see if I can get more FPS back.

And as of today its back. and worse! cant even get into combat if I do, FPS drop to around 4-5. but other games run fine, Crysis 2 on Ultra, ME3, L4D2, GW1. With everything set to max. I can’t for the life of me work out why GW2 is playing up.

Randome thought. Has anyone tried running GW2 in a compatibility wizard for XP or Vista in windows 7?

Edit; tried it. No difference. At this rate I’m thinking about buying vista again

Second edit. After a googl search I found a post saying that aero in windows 7 takes up a lot of your CPU and GPU. And if you turn it of and have the windows UI look like Win 98 you can réclame something like 10-20 FPS. Not had a chance to try this yet, but will post once I have.

Ok. After setting the desktop to windows Classic in windows 7. My FPS stayed around the 15-20 mark. That’s an improvement of 5-10 FPS. If I did any sudden movements though it would drop to 9 before returning to 15-20. This is with some settings on high. Maybe running gw2 and win7 is just too much for my PC.
