ok, so i have a sony viao. not a good graphics card. (its intel) but my ram is 7gb

i opened a file to put more ram into gw2 so i can run it faster and it looks like this: javaw -Xmx6144m -Xms6144m -jar C:\Users\Public\Desktop\Gw2.exe and im trying to run it with gw2 as you can see, but it wont open it. please help me! i want better fps and quality and trying to put my cpu to its capabilities.

By the way you have to open notepad and start a new file there.

Why are you using Java? Why are you trying to run GW2 as a jar package? Why are you creating a text file in notepad? Why are you attempting to use Java’s memory allocation pool with GW2?

If you have 7GB of RAM, GW2 will use what it can of it. That by definition on a 64-bit OS is 4GB of said RAM. End of story. That’s the maximum address space it can or will be allocated – 32-bit pointers insist. Java is unable to change that in the slightest.

well, its more of a shot in the dark. i saw a video where you could allocate more ram to run minecraft more smoothly and thought i could do the same with gw2.

in the notepad u put the data, then save as: run.bit (so it opens with gw2 using the amount of ram u designated)

im sorry if i sound ridiculous. not very sure of my cpu knowledge at this point.

This is not going to work. Your viao is not designed for gaming. Nothing you can do will make it run more smoothly.

Guild Wars 2 is not a java application like Minecraft. This won’t work and the game has no need for such tricks anyway.

Still won´t help one bit to run GW2 faster.

Lots of ram only helps when the actual system isn´t crap. Won´t help you one bit either when it is.
