What cpu do you have? There are cpus that when overheating, will drop down to a lower speed in order to cool off. Are you overclocking? Is it a laptop or desktop? What components do you have and what power supply do you have?

I am playing on a Laptop with a Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00 GHz 2.00 GHz processor. RAM is 8.0 GB and my videocard is a NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M.
And at last my power supply is a Asus, Model ADP-120ZB BB, input 100-240V~50-60Hz, output 19V.
I’m am not overclocking though, but how can i see if my laptop is dropping down to a lower speed in order to cool off?
I have installed it now, but what options could i possibly use to make my FPS higher, without ‘hurting’ my laptop?
EDIT: I found out that whenever my render sampling is set to native, my FPS rate drops drastically and on sub my FPS is around 40. But 1 or 2 weeks ago it wasnt like this…

What temperatures are you getting?
You were suppose to install speedfan to monitor your system temperature. That program doesn’t speed up your computer or increase FPS. Excessive heat will cause CPU/GPU to throttle down to prevent damage hence reducing FPS.

i wouldn’t use speedfan on recent hw, it can cause system hangs because of a bad implementation of smbus scanning.

Aida64 is brilliant, i use it myself, however it is not free ..unless you ‘acquire’ it buy other means.
Which ever program you chose.. turn it on and play GW2 as normal. If it shows a graph over time take a look at temps when u see your average frame rate drop. If it only shows temps in realtime then turn on any Overlay option it may have so u can see them whilst in game, becouse if you tab out to see the temps they will immediatly drop.
once you have done so .. get back to us
