Fan spinning & heat on macbook
Macs just run hot when you put heavy loads on the system. Nothing you can really do about it. I’ve been using MacBook Pros for years now and it’s common for the fans to run at full speed and the chassis to get hot to the touch. when I play games or have a heavy CPU load for an extended period of time.
I don’t use a Mac for gaming (that’s just silly), but I do use a laptop for gaming currently (again, not quite the smartest choice entirely) and I use a cooling pad that works great! drops my temp 10 degrees and the fan isn’t blowing all the time. I say try to get a Cooler Master pad. They’ve worked great for me! Sorry disregard my tease. Again try the cooling pad

Definitely use a cooler fan, it really helps. I also use Fan Control, but that probably doesn’t work in Mountain Lion since it’s not 64-bit. I haven’t had a game use all the CPU, but when the Video Card gets exercised a lot, the heat sky rockets. I only plug in the laptop cooler when playing video intensive games, don’t really need it any other time.

Great tool! Simple and easy
I never overheat!
This is supposed to happen, it’s nothing to worry too much about. If you have a powerful enough computer it shouldn’t be a big problem. I would suggest not putting it on your lap but rather on a cooling pad, or at least a wood surface if you don’t own a cooling pad. I’ve played for many hours on end on my 2011 MacBook Pro and I don’t experience any performance issues. Otherwise, the computer is just doing it’s job by having the fan ru n so fast as a game of this calibre overheats a processing system and graphics card very easily. The fan is more or less protecting your computer from getting damaged by heat.
