Ive changed my computer as was installing gw2 on this rig.
well, the update went pass optimal at got stucked at 91%. with about 38k files left.
i logged in to play for a while and came out to continue the download.
now for more than 2 hours, its stuck at 37k files, with download speed of 3mb/s-6mb/s.
the size of downloading increases but the files remaining doesn’t decrease at at all.. wonder what is the issue..
- i did try uninstall and install again. its still this problem.
- ive tried -assetsrv command, well it doesn’t change thing except, the download speed became slower
- ive closed and open the launcher several times. there came to a point where the downloading reaches 4000mb but still 37k files remaining.
Use the following options to enable logging and use ArenaNet’s primary asset server:
Gw2-64.exe -log -assetsrv 64.25.41.2
If it’s still stuck, let it sit for a minute, then open the folder %appdata%/Guild Wars 2/ (paste into a folder’s address bar and press enter) and open Gw2.log in notepad. It’ll likely say something about a patch failing. Post that file as an attachment.
Something is likely interfering with your network traffic, whether it be your ISP or software running on your computer. You can rule out most software by rebooting into safe mode with networking enabled by using msconfig (WindowsKey+R > msconfig > boot). If software wasn’t your problem however, then using a VPN is required to prevent your traffic from being manipulated.
