Is there a way to obtain someones email from their account info? I assume not as people would try to use this information to hack someone’s account, but I would feel better if I asked.

An older person I played with for many years has disappeared. It was silly for me to never to exchange information after all that time, but it never really came up. It has been over 2 months and I have become extremely worried something has happened, and would really feel better if I could make contact to see if everything is okay. Thank you

No. Player email is very private and important information for account. No way would arena net let other player know that information. Sorry you will need to try to find your friend other way.

Yes I figured… Thanks for the response. Can anyone think of a creative way for me to obtain that information? Is there a way to use the account name and message him on this forum and it will go to his email?

If he is on friend list you can see display name. With display name you can send PM on forum. It will not send email about message. He only see it if read the forum.

But by default it should sent him a notification email correct?

When I try to PM him on here it gives me an error:

“An Error Prevented Saving:
Recipient can’t be blank”

My mistake there is option on forum account to get email if you get private message. I forget about that, Make sure you use display name. The one with the number like your name here on forum. Not character name.

It’s weird I can send myself a message no problem, but when I type his name I get this error? What’s the deal?

I do not know then. Maybe your friend got banned or maybe forum bug. The forum has a lot of bug like search broken. I will try to send you PM use your display name.

Edit: I just send you PM by typing your display name and it work. I think maybe your friend got account closed for some reason.

That’s odd… he sent me a mail the last time he logged in. His account was working fine before.

Although a player may exist in the game, they do not exist on the forums until they’ve logged in to accept the user agreement.

If you want to send that player a message, you’ll have to do so within the game.

Oh okay that sounds right… yeah he probably never logged in here.
