Fix the lag - it's getting worse
And how’s your other specs and internet?

He runs a 300 baud modem, with a rotary phone.
I tend not to complain about this for many reasons, but I have noticed an increase in lag since they did that maintenance, maybe its just time of the year, phase of the mood, tidal forces, or even the way I’m sitting on my chair.
Would be nice to have built-in network traffic analyser because lags are not always visible. Additionally built-in traceroute if that would reveal the cause.
People say they have a lag but they could interpret wrong what they see. Also, I don’t know if I should complain to my network provider or to Anet.
Well, a lot of ppl are experiencing lag spikes, not caused by their connection itself.
Also, those spikes often results in the connection loss, and most ppl will tell you that it started by the introduction of the Feature pack. So I don’t think the problem is on the players side generally.
Most threads that have popped up on this since the game’s launch have boiled the problem down to the connection stalling or getting dropped somewhere along the line from the user to the servers in Texas.
I don’t know how much of this is in Anet’s hands but they definitely could do more to be transparent about it when we all know their constant “It’s the users’ error” canned responses are suspect at best.
I have never lagged in GW, and I connect to the NA servers from the UK
o.o
I’ve been having bad skill lag in WvW lately too. I have 100down/15up, so I know it’s not my computer or local connection.

What about you non-local connection? Run TRACERT.
Not all paths on the internet go thru the same routers….they can be setup incorrectly or go bad (and Anet can’t fix that).
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
It wasn’t that bad even when they were getting DDOS’d so it’s either insufficient hardware or some change they have made to the server software that causes it.
They progressively reduce the server capacity with the declining player base, perhaps a bit too much than it’s needed.
Can’t think of NCSoft game that doesn’t have lag problems.

Well, local was the wrong term. I meant to my ISP.
But ever since the last feature patch, it’s been that way.

When was the last time you repaired the client?
Sometimes you can clean up issues by getting rid of the old data and downloading fresh data.
No lag here. Maybe it’s your ISP or ethernet.
If your on a NA server, which location, West Coast(LA), Central(Dallas I presume) or East Coast(North Caroline I believe)? Why do I ask that, because NCSoft has 3 data centers(or they did, as that is where GW1 was/is housed, as well as other NCSoft titles, and they aren’t ‘rental severs’ but owned by NCSoft in entirety with an infinite upgrade clause in the contract). If you’re EU, it’s a known issue that they’ve been dealing with. I’d say most lag issues are caused somewhere along the pathway/tr and not at either the local end(home) or server end(NCSoft/A,net).
I usually lag in CoE. Can go from 100fps to 4-5fps and it doesn’t reset until I close the game and open it again. I’ve been experiencing spike lags too, usually during Tequatl or Triple Trouble ^^
I’ve been having lag issues the last 4-5 days. I did everything possible. Talked with my ISP obviously and followed every tutorial I could find about solving lag issues in gw2 (taken from forums and google). Nothing seems to be working. I never had lag before, this is totally new to me. I’m getting desperate because I love the game, but I can’t play it this way.
Can anyone please let me know if there is a solution for this? I’m from Argentina, my ISP is Fibertel (just in case this is required).
Thanks!
Any answer to this? A week already and the problem persists.
I’m having the same problem. I wish we could get an explanation as to why this is happening, or at least a notice that they’re working on the problem.
Also, I’m in the US, so lag problems exclusive to the EU shouldn’t be hitting me.
