Fixed my fps at last
wow sounds awesome. Since you said your rig is somewhat older, what’s your CPU please?
best statistical loot in the game. We want everyone on equal power base.”
Ive got an e8400 3ghz core duo with 6 gig of ram and a gtx 260. I think the majority of people here are having trouble with their higher end cards. Dont get me wrong i dont have all my graphics options set high but to be honest it looks kitten fine on the resolution. Im not pushing my luck with medium or high settings, im quite happy with how it looks. Looking forward to actually playing it now!
I say try to push the graphics up ingame. On my laptop, with a gt540m, I can put everything on max except reflexions and shadows with very small fps differences. Again, my bottleneck is the i3 I’m running on, and things like shaders and post processing are nothing to a gpu that’s being barely used. Anyway, try to play the game with “-cuda -umbra gpu”, that gave me easily 10fps, or it’s just a very, very good placebo.
Ill gradual increase and see where it takes me, im just scared ill screw it up again if i mess about too much, what is cuda umbra gpu if you dont mind me asking?
command line switch that does absolutely nothing but give a placebo effect and he just mindlessly pasted it in there without even an explanation of what it is and where to put it…Awesome. In short, dont bother with the cuda switch, umbra can be positive though. You need to make a shortcut of Gw2.exe and copy -Umbra gpu behind the Targetline So it says ""C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe" -Umbra gpu
i know the Cuda switch does nothing, not sure about Umbra havent tested it since i got no perf problems at all, might try it later out.But i did read some positive comments from people about it,But again it can be just a placebo effect
