Flash drive use
Likely not. You can check the size of your GW2.dat file in the GW2 folder. You will probably need a 32GB flash drive, and the kind that allows very large files. (I believe it must use NTFS type formatting.)
Good luck.
It will most likely have to be a 32gb,as cedo said.
My GW2.dat is 21,412,932KB, or 21.4gb.
Use a program like WinRAR or 7-Zip to split Gw2.dat into multiple parts and transfer them one at a time.
After transferring the two parts, merge them back into Gw2.dat, download Gw2Setup.exe, rename it to Gw2.exe then place it where you’d like to install GW2 (for example, C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe). Put Gw2.dat in the same folder with Gw2.exe, then run it.
If you’re only capable of making one run, meaning you’re only able to transfer 16 GB of Gw2.dat, use “Gw2.exe -repair” to attempt to recover it.
The size of Gw2.dat will vary depending on the patches you’ve downloaded. It’ll be anywhere from 20-24 GB fully updated.
splitting files is probably the easiest way.
Though you could just take the drive out of the laptop and plug it into your desktop internally with sata and transfer that way
Thx everyone. The Laptop belongs to my daughter who lives in another county and there’s no way she could do without that laptop long enough for me to bring it home…, not even over night. (She’s a writer and all her manuscripts are on there. And yes, she has backups but that’s beside the point. lol) So I need to be able to transfer the game by USB flashdrive. It’s either that or take my desktop to her place…and I don’t want to lug this gaming computer around if I don’t haver to. So flashdrive it is!

portable hdd is an option
You also need more room than the current installation size, since it will vary somewhat during updates and I’m sure it will get bigger for Heart of Thorns, even for people that don’t purchase the expansion.
