You’ve probably read today that the PC and Mac Tech subs are being merged with this sub.

Given the amount of info in the stickies for these three subs I’ll be making some sort of FAQ for those topics to reduce the number of stickies that would be required on the 9th when the merge happens.

Just wanted to let you all know that I’ll be messing things up for a little bit.

You know, Michael, it would be great if there was a link at the top of the forum pages, or on the other site pages, that sent players to the Knowledge Base. I think most players don’t even know it exists. I know you can get there by clicking the link to ‘Support’, but one that said ‘FAQ or Knowledge Base’ might be helpful. A lot of Stickies could go there, maybe.

There are two links at the top of the page that lead to ‘Support’ and thus, the Knowledge Base…maybe one of them could be re-titled/labeled ‘FAQ’ or ‘Knowledge Base’.

Just a suggestion. =)

The Sticky, ‘Known Issues and Tips on Reporting Issues’ is giving an error: This page isn’t redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

Same issue with the ‘Basic Mac Beta Client Troubleshooting’ Sticky.

And the ‘Update Notes: Guild Wars 2 Mac Beta Client’ Sticky.

Is it new?

Gaile is making a separate post but this behavior is an expected potential side effect of the merges. If it doesn’t auto-resolve in a day or so we’ll repost the info as new threads as a work around.

I see some of the Stickies are working now. Thanks for the quick attention paid to the issue. =)

You might consider placing [MAC] in the titles of those Stickies that reference Mac issues.

Not to mention that almost half the page in this forum is sticky threads. That means all regular threads are forced off the front page even faster. I do not support this merger due to this.

Which is why I typed some. I read your previous post, and your thread over in Bugs. =)

As to the number of Stickies, perhaps some (more) will be moved into ‘FAQ and Stickies’.

I’m sure the Devs are working on and implementing tweaks, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. =)

Not sure if you’ve noticed, Michael/Gaile, all the Sticky links in the Sticky ‘FAQ and Sticky Threads’ now try to access areas that were removed, and thus no longer work. =(

We can’t use them to provide information to those in need.

You know, having a sticky with a bunch of non-explained links is one of the MOST worthless posts a forum admin can do, right?

You should title what each of the links are, and a summary of what they are used for, rather then just a dry list of links that would be meaningless to your average forum visitor.

Desktop: 4790k@4.6ghz-1.25v, AMD 295×2, 32GB 1866CL10 RAM, 850Evo 500GB SSD
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD

I’m not sure what you mean. The titles of the threads the hyperlinks link to seem pretty self-explanatory. ‘How to….’ ‘Not whatever…Read this’ ‘Do not do This and Why’ etc.

I’m sure, if you have some suggestions for thread titles, the Team would consider them. =)

Looks like they are working on it :-)

But that is the thread I am talking about. needs more details about the links in question.

All the links in the FAQ and “Sticky Threads” Thread aren’t working for me.
Look at the links. They all point to the old subforums, which no longer exist.

I checked several links and they lead to a home forum page with a red banner at the top with these words: Sorry, this area isn’t available yet. Please check back later.

In addition, I tried researching an answer on a topic on old threads. I could find the links on google but when I tried to pull them up I got the forum front page and the reject saying that the area wasn’t available and to check back later.

There’s a workaround in the Sticky, if you care to use it while they are getting these sorted out. (It will work for any Googled thread if you know the sub-forum it was moved to/merged with.)

Good luck.
