Fps progressively lowering [Solved]
Sounds like a overheating issue the CPU or GPU is throttling down. Monitor your CPU and GPU temps.
Heat or bad stick of mem springs to mind. I would lean more towards heat as the problem resolves its self and doesn’t kill your computer. first thing is to blow out all the dust from your processor/video card make sure that all the fans are set to run at max. I know this will be loud just do it for testing purposes and see if her performance is better.
All CPU’s and GPUS are designed to slow down to save your hardware by lowing the clocks speeds so they generate less heat. Heat issues for me in the past have had me playing games with the case open sometimes a desktop fan blowing directly into the case.
On my current system I had to flip over my 210 MM side fan to pull the heat directly off the GPU as I had the same problem, once I flipped the fan over temperature on GPU and CPU both dropped by 15 degrees.
It is also possible that cleaning the heatsinks on the video card and the CPU is all that is needed depending on the air flow of your case.
Wow, thanks guys.
The heating was the problem. I opend up the case and vacuumed it carfully, it had allot of dust in the processeing fan and on the graphics card. Belive it was 2 years since i cleanded it last.
Now i have around 45-50 fps, sometimes even 60 with the highest settings on.
Going to monitor my GPU and CPU’s heating more closely from now on, might even get a new cooling system.
Thanks for the help one again, feels like I got a brand new setup!
Core temp with the graph plugin works great to monitor your CPU and GPUZ will give you up to date GPU temp
Sandra lite also works but doesn’t work well while playing games.
