Guild Wars 2

So I’ve been noticing a inconsistent problem with my FPS where at some times it will be around 16FPS and others it drops to 8FPS. The drop seems to occur more frequently when I try to alt tab out of the game to look something up on guild wars 2 wiki then come back to the game, though it has occurred without my alt tabing out. I was curious if there was any way to improve FPS without decreasing the Graphics of the game? If not what would be a way to increase my FPS? more memory? better Graphics card?

Computer Specs:
Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz
12.0 GB of RAM.
64-bit op system
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460

(And yes my drivers for my graphics card are up to date)

So I did a few minor changes in the graphics options. Namely turned off Anti-Aliasing as well as Reflections, while turning shadows and LOD distance to medium. Seems to have improved. I’m getting 30 FPS with dips into the lower 20’s. But overall improvement. Anything else OUT of game I can do?

After hours of research I honestly think this is a problem with the game. Is your GPU being used at all?

My GPU usage is 10% when playing the game. I have tried everything I can to get more then 15 FPS and have had no luck at all. I have been posting here since yesterday when the game suddenly started acting up and became unplayable due to bad FPS. Every screen resolution and graphical setting had no change on the fps at all. I am lucky to get over 10 fps right now…
Looking at my GPU you can’t even tell when the game is running. There are a few threads about it so far. Hoping to see more so AN will stop letting people waste time and money on upgrades when they don’t need to.

I have the same setup as you, except for running two 460’s and less RAM (8 GB).

WvW is unplayable for me, no matter the graphical settings.

The game fps simply seems to make no sense, I see people with worse specs getting much better fps, while I also have no issues running other recent games at decent fps.
