Ram: 4×2(8)gb DDR3-1333
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 3870
Using Win7

I know the video card is probably the weakest i just wonder how much FPS i should be getting with spec?

FREEZING PROBLEM:

If i play on fullscreen sometimes my game will freeze for a second then go on – i can still move (like if im pressing move button i still move) and use my mouse (cursor moves). NEVER happens if i am on windowed mode (windowed fullscreen included)

graphic card failure was my guess but not sure.

This has been happening to me all day for some reason. It has never happened before except in Guild Wars 1 when they were doing some maintenance on server side. I am doing a verify files to be sure nothing is corrupted.

You know it doesnt really matter what version it is as the result is the same ..but ..if that 3870 is a standard 3870 and not even a x2( ? ) ..im suprised u can even run the game. Thats a very old and slow GPU.
I’m a nvidia user myself ..and that 3870 works out about as old/slow as a 8800GS.

In all honesty you would have to run at a super low resolution ..on minimum settings just to have a hope at running at ‘ok’ framerates. As for the pausing ..that sounds like random lag tbh ..its ether Anet side. .or ur ISP.
Running a AMD cpu isnt helping ether tbh, GW2 hates AMD cpu’s performance wise..but its highly likely u wont be noticing this issue as the gpu is just holding u back so much.
A cheap fix for framerates would be to buy a cheap gaming gpu ..maybe a Nvida 460 ..or better yet a Nvidia 560ti ..or the ATi equivalent.

it is most deffinetly not a lag issue, the game works – if i press forward i can still go forward i just see the same screen for a second then i see myself on where i should be if that freezing did not happen. And yeh i know the gpu is old i just wonder the FPS they suggest i’d get on it.

FPS ..i think you would be very lucky to get 30fps on auto detect settings settings.

As for what you described ….i see what u mean now and yes it sounds like a Graphics issue. In all honest its probably just down to having such an old.slow card tbh.

My only advice is to try different dirver versions and make sure its all setup corectly in the Catalyst control centre, idont use the CCC myself since i use nvidia so i cant really help u on specific options.

I would just play on windowed full screen. It’s better than spending $ on a game thats not performing well for anybody.

Stress test your system to see if you can reproduce it. Run 3dmarks, Furmark, prime95 and see if you can cause it to freeze.
