Arugz.9203 is my friend he was banned 2 days ago.
even his support account he can’t activate. we need help this is so wrong. we usually do pvp what kind of exploit have he done no response and his ticket # 130404-000654. Pls be sure before banning.
Arugz has allready his own thread. In there is detail explainations why the exact method of exploit isn’t discussed in public as well as his appeal. It can take up to 72 hours. Your helping your friend and thats worthy of you, but by doing so you are breaking the rules yourself. Don’t double post the same issue.
My brother’s account, Galadrist.7052, was also banned around the same time, allegedly for “modifying or tampering with the game.” He’s already contacted support but I thought I’d voice my concern here as well.
He plays on the weekends mostly and is a casual player and is not tech savvy lol. He doesn’t “hack” or much less use 3rd party programs/macros. He just logged on a few nights ago and bam, banned lol. He has no reason, and certainly not the expertise to do these alleged hackings.
Anet, I strongly recommend looking at both these incidents (and maybe more) very closely as it sounds very similar to bannings that happened 5 months ago based on “corrupted data”. See http://www.guildwars2guru.com/arenanet-tracker/topic/240188-permanently-banned-for-modifying-or-tampering-with-game/
Arugz, did you buy some extra bank slots when it was on sale?
Because, one thing we can think of is my brother bought a extra bank slots when it was on sale a month or so ago. Did Anet suddenly check for these and wondered how he got extra slots cheap???
ANET, please review these bannings carefully again.
If there are any other players under the same situation, please add your concern as well.
Thanks.
2 days isn’t enough of a wait. If there is no response after 3 days, post the ticket number here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Tickets-for-Review-3-days-and-older-merged
but don’t file a second support ticket. Only file one ticket. ArenaNet has said that filing multiple tickets for the same question only slows things down.

I totally understand you are trying to defend your friend, but pointing at a single isolated incident where a number of accounts where falsy banned, while in reality many accounts are rightfully are banned every day isn’t going to work.
This recent spree of exploit ban’s is after Arenanet deployed an update fixing 3 possible exploits. So I don’t think they have been reviewing wrong data, but have found one or two exploits and have looked back over the past months who have used this. I truly think all these bans are for people who used one of these exploits.
I am not allowed to advertise any exploit. Even if it is fixed. So if you want to know more I suggest to lookup the forum thread with the lastest update notes:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Game-Update-Notes-March-26-2013/first#post1763637
Im not saying this is the reason of the ban in this specifick situation, nor am I saying that Arenanet doesn’t make mistakes. But I do hope this rings a bell.
mercury, tnx for the info, but sadly there have been other incidents like these. see https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Helping-my-Senior-Father-with-his-Account
my brother got the same msg, banned for tampering, when he hasn’t done anything.
i strongly, strongly believe this is another bug, esp. as he just told me he got the ban message right after patching the game 2 or 3 days ago.
Gaile, Anet, please help us.
Thanks.
Same thing happen to my friend 4 days ago . He was banned for botting but support answered he get ban for modify or tampering and yes he did nothing like this .
Same here. My wife had her account “closed” for botting. She doesn’t even know how to install a game nevermind a bot. Mind you she’ll play in spurts then run off to do something not logging off. So it’s nice to see you get banned for going afk. She submitted a ticket but has lost the will to play mmo’s because of the stigma that she can’t play around her task schedule. I can’t even get her to logon to SWTOR after this. Fingers crossed on fixing that…
seems there are more of these erroneous bannings going on. lends more credence to my suspicion that there’s corrupted data that’s flagging innocent accounts.
please look ino this anet.
forgot to add the link https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Account-Terminated-Need-your-help
Well, same story here. Got terminated a week ago, and got my account back a few days after. I was banned for botting or using 3rd party programs (which I didn’t). I guess mine was triggered due to hitting the same keys repetitively and doing a lot of alf-F4’s during PvP.
Although, I disagree with indiscriminate banning and such, I do feel ANet should monitor it a bit closer. Honestly, I have no problem with harvesters (spawn and harvest the disappear ). What I hate is when a Task (heart or daily), states you must kill a certain amount and you are unable to so (lowlevel). Honestly if you need to Bot or exploit GW2 then GHY in life
Same thing happened to our real life friend yesterday who was banned for botting. He’s been a key member in our guild since the start of the game and we are all feeling the loss.
If his only problem is that of afk-ing while waiting for shadow behemoth to spawn, then I think we are all guilty of that inactivity at one point or the other.
His account is winterain.8435. His ticket number is #130407-000954
Please look into this Anet. Thank you.
I would kindly ask people to not judge a friends/sisters/brothers/girlfriends/etc suspension as wrong on Arenanet’s side untill he ticket is resolved. The reason is that I don’t judge any person wrong until the ticket is resolved, but their account has been raised with a warning flag. This has resulted in a review from a GM who decided to suspend. Please file a ticket and be patient.
In the recent spree of bans I haven’t seen reactions in other threads older then 72 hours from people that they where re-instated nor that they still disagree with the decission. This might mean that the explaination support gave was maybe not good news, but made them understand what they did wrong.
Besides that, it happens very often that people actually know the full reason but are reluctant to tell specially to those who they like and/or love the most. Blaiming it on Anet without waiting for the support ticket to be resolved is in my opinion unfair. If they made a mistake they will rectify it and learn from it. If they goofed up big they will publicly say sorry too. But jumping to conclusions and not giving them a change to explain it to the account-owner through a ticket is unfair.
So in short when you are banned and you don’t recognise you in the reason stated in the access denied message you should do the following:
a: file a support ticket to ask for clarification. It can take up to 72 hours before you get an answer. If it takes longer please post your ticketnumber here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Tickets-for-Review-3-days-and-older-merged/page/71#post1760053
b: wait for the reply and read it.
c: if you disagree with the reason given to you by support, reply to them with the arguments and if possible evidence. Be co-operative and stay friendly.
d: If your ticket is fully closed with no change of reply and appeal, then you can ask here for a senior staffmember to have a look at it.
I would kindly ask people to not judge a friends/sisters/brothers/girlfriends/etc suspension as wrong on Arenanet’s side untill he ticket is resolved.
Or better yet, let the “friend/brother/sister” take care of their own business. I’ve seen posters defend their “friend/sister/brother” so emotionally and with painstaking detail it makes you wonder who got banned…them or their “friend/sister/brother”.

People who are terminated don’t have access to the forums.. They have to depend on friends and family to make a topic in the forums since they can’t do it anymore.
I know this is supposed to be the case, then one wonders why there are so many “I’ve been banned” threads. How DO they get access to the forums?

We are sorry whenever someone is suspended in error. But please be aware that this is not a common incident. I want to ask forum members the following:
If someone still needs help after three days, feel free to post in the Tickets for Review thread, which is at the top of this Account Support sub-forum. Again, do not post until the ticket is at least three days old. * That will allow the team to discuss the matter with the player and to act appropriately in response to the individual appeal.
