Guild Wars 2

Just posting for a friend, he can’t access the forums because it says he doesn’t have access to guild wars 2 :
My friend was farming in frostgorge in blackgate for a few minutes(doing his normal champion farming session each day) then decided to go afk to grab a bite to eat. When he came back after a few minutes it said he got banned for botting/extended unattended play/using macros and whatnot.

I got back to the game around 15 minutes after I went to grab a bite, when I started moving there was a notice about the ban and it stated it’s permanent. I haven’t done anything wrong, haven’t tried macros or even third-party programs in any game, EVER. I asked helped from my friends and from the Maguuma community right after I submitted a support ticket. I had my friend post this because I can’t access our forums since it says I have no access to guild wars 2. After an hour of my ban my friends noticed I was back in-game in frostgorge(blackgate) where I was last at before I got banned. They then saw me go off and online a couple of times prior to this post being made. Hoping for a fast solution for this. Thank you.

Just to let you know, they don’t want people making tickets and threads the same day. They ask for people to give support time to work on the problem.

Also, people aren’t banned/suspended based on what they were doing that moment. The account has to be tagged or reported by a person or the game computer. The report goes to a staff member, behind all the other reports he gets every day. He has to review it and then make a decision. This process can take hours to days, depending on how busy they are and how complex the situation is.

Your friend should get an initial email from ANet within 24 hours of sending the ticket. He should be able to discuss it with them from there.

i have a friend that this happened to also, and i saw a post on reddit about some one else who was banned while in frostgorge, i believe he was also in blackgate when it occurred.

There is no point in posting on the forums the same day a ticket it made. It wont speed anything up, and it just clutters up the forum. After dealing with support, or if a ticket is over 3 days old, then it is ok to come here. Also I am pretty sure its against the rules to post on someone else’s behalf.

While they don’t want people to make a ticket and then a thread, it is acceptable for someone to post on your behslf if you can’t access the forum yourself. If they are banned and need to ask Gaile to review support’s decision, unless they have 2 accounts they have to have a friend post for them.
