In my opinion, people should be getting full refunds for this because this is starting to get ridiculous.
My friend has still not been able to play for 2 months on the game that he paid for, and the botter still has access to his account freely using it to bot. Obviously his support tickets have lied to him saying that nobody can access his account anymore because I see him online constantly and have reported it, but no, there’s still a botter on his account. A full refund or some other compensation allowing him to play the game needs to be implemented for the failure of Anet to deal with these account problems in a reasonable manner.
I’m not just talking about him, either. People who have had their accounts hacked and have been told that it is their own fault they got hacked, when clearly it was not (example: my friend had a completely different password / email for this game, and the hacker was allowed to change his email freely and without obstruction). It has been over 2 months and still Anet has done a terrible job to compensate and/or accommodate their own customers.
Please come up with a policy of a full refund, so people can get their stolen money back. Or come up with a solution that accommodates these people (example: letting them make a new and secure account after deleting their previous account and give it ironclad security to prevent future intrusions).

I agree wit you completely, if they can ban innocent users from their personal accounts… then why are hackers still allowed to run them for their own greedy purposes (Botting)? its ridiculous and i am with you on that refund thing,
Ya i understand that there is $0 monthly subscription and just $60+ up front to buy the game but who would buy something with the thought that their money would be wasted, privacy invaded and no explaintion nor reimbursement is given to the consumer that supports the game/company… bunch a BS if you ask me,
And im not ranting, im just telling the truth and speaking my mind, maybe ranters are just very angry and opinionated ppl who have been done wrong, XD
Not to mention 1 day before i got hacked i Purchased $20 Worth of GEMS (1600) to buy a new toon slot and more bank space getting ready for the countless hours i was gonna spend playing GW2 ….. and didnt get to use em….. Annnnnnnnd i cant get a refund…… Soo Ridiculous !! I feel cheated and abused….

While bluntly expressed, at the core this is true. Security issues are individual and need to be handled (secured) or, if breached, resolved individually.

Please get your friend’s ticket number and post in the “Tickets for Review” thread and I will look into this matter for him or her.
