Hey,

The function that you can give people in your friend list a customized note is one I’ve really grown fond of. I only play the sPVP -mode in GW2, and I like to add a lot of like minded people to my friend list to group up again in future. For instance if I meet an extremely good necromancer in a tournament I might add him to my friend list with the note “very good necro”

But today I logged in and noticed that all my notes were gone… I now have a huge collection of fellow pvp players on my list who I know nothing of. Is there a way to get my notes back?

Is it anything like the issues described in this thread? I thought I heard it was “fixed” in a patch some months ago, but since I also read patch notes that said champions should always drop loot, I haven’t bothered with nicknames in months.

Now, if I don’t interact with someone frequently enough to remember them, I realize that they probably see me in exactly the same way. I’m nice to them and ask them to do a dungeon or something when we need more for our group, and sometimes they do the same.

It was fixed. My nickname changes survived through multiple updates until now; all the nicknames are gone.

This seems to happen during certain types of maintenance period, when the game is live, but there are intermittent problems with chat, guild representation, and logon status.

I stopped reporting it because (a) I thought the dev team was aware of the issue and (b) had taken steps to preserve the nicknames.

I quess “nickname” is the right term for the thing i was trying to describe. I tried logging in multiple times and waited a day but they are still erased.

I can’t say if this is still happening to me or not but I pretty much abandoned the Nicknames right at the start near launch as they kept on disappearing so it’s not a brand new issue. I never reported it though just thought nothing of it really.

My player notes/nickname or what have you have vanished on me at least 3 times now since launch, I too have tons of players I wrote nice notes on that I no longer have; it’s quite foolish for me to PST every one of them and ask if they remember me or why I would have them on my list.

I have taken to writing down player names and notes with a pen and piece of paper. I should not have to be doing this, obviously. I really hope the info is floating around in some database and not wiped completely.

This is an old problem since game’s launch. Disappearance is semi-random. I fell victim to it myself and didn’t set any nicknames since. I don’t know how much your new analytics team can do, but they would be the ones I’d trust to track down the source of this new problem, in cooperation with department actually responsible for the friendlist on the programming side.
