he should log-in to “guildwars2.com” and download the client from there. (@"MyAccount")
patching will also be alot faster.
alternatively, you can copy your client on an USB stick, and just drag&drop it on your friend’s PC.

Note that when he creates an account on guildwars2.com, THAT log in name is linked to his (and IS his) account display name. This CAN NOT be changed once he registers his game code.
