Guild Wars 2

Just tried it, runs pretty smooth on my Mid 2010 MBP. Drops 5-10fps in comparison to bootcamp.

The only thing bugging me right now is the lack of F1-F4 functionality due to OSX functions overwriting them. Furthermore the standard weapon swap key and the cmd-key don’t work.

Oh, and the lack of a zoom with my beloved Magic Mouse. But oh well, it’s not a gaming mouse.

Other than that: Awesome!

well i have a gaming mouse and my scrolling wheel doesn’t seem to work at all. can’t zoom nor scroll in text. can’t figure it out, it’s quite vital in my opinion. (i’m playing on a mac of course, MBP early 2011.)

Have you tried going into your computer’s Keyboard preferences and checking:

“Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys”

would be much better if they could be disabled through the game menu, and only overriding the default OS X behaviours while the GW2 window has focus.

My MBP late 2011’s performance is the same in comparison to bootcamp, which is good! Don’t forget that this is still a beta client.

The only things that are bugging me as well are the same things that Narai stated. However the F1-F4 problem is easy to solve and only takes like 5 seconds, I think. Just go to the keyboard preferences and check the option that says to use the F1-F12 as default.
The mouse problem it’s general as I too have a gaming mouse (Razer Mamba, mac drivers installed) and I too can’t zoom in/out.

Well, even under bootcamp you have to modify the keyboard preferences globally to get the function keys to work if you are using a Mac keyboard.

Question: Is there a way to minimize the game? The most common way to minimize (at least on browsers) is cmd + m, but this doesn’t work on Gw2.
I know you can go window mode by clicking cmd + enter, but I would prefer to minimize it the “normal” way.

Narai, just a personal recommendation, but add some other keys to the F1 – F4 calls in you control set up… I’m using Shift+1 – Shift+4 and actually finding it much easier to play with those instead.
