Guild Wars 2

I plan on running my PNY Nvidia Gt 630 with 2048mb and ddr3. I am also going to use an AMD 6 core 3.5ghz black edition. I realize that CPU speed in Guild Wars 2 matters greatly but will my game run well? I am also using 8gb of ddr3 ram.

Which AMD 6 core? the older AM3 Phenom II x6 series does not to well in GW2, The FX6300 series does a little bit better but its still not as good as a dual core Intel solution.

The GT630 is going to be subpar for content like WvW, and high-ultra settings.

My advice is to buy a GTX750Ti, and something like a G3220 (cheapest Intel Haswell CPU) G3258 (Dual core that can be Overclocked) or an i3-4000 series. Those three Cpus will bury any AMD cpu when it comes down to GW2 in performance.

i agree with the 750ti, excellent upgrade from the fermi based 630.

Assuming it’s an AMD FX-6350 or something along those lines I wouldn’t rush to upgrade the CPU too quickly – true, it doesn’t do nearly as well as a haswell chip in single threaded tasks but I think the GPU is going to be your primary bottleneck.

I would definitely second the thought that you should go with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 ti – it’s a fantastic card for the money.
