GTX 1070 with low fps
The cpu is the bottleneck. Gw2 is a very cpu intensive game.
Also, disable reflections and shadows.

Although you just installed it, try a re-seat of your GPU.
possibly the graphics card is plugged into the wrong slot. take your mainboard manual and see where the pci express 16x slot is.
Overclock your CPU to 4.2 – 4.5 Ghz and you should really see a smoother experience in most of the game.
Yeah, your performance is about right. Just OC the CPU and you’ll see some gains, 4.5GHz should be a breeze and will be a very nice boost

Upgrading your graphics card won’t really help your FPS for this game. FPS in GW2 is linked to CPU performance, and if you want better FPS I suggest upgrading to the new intel skylake processors. I’m currently running a pentium g4400 with a radeon 6850 and I manage to get 25-40 fps in LA on ultra settings and 60-80+ in dungeons and other less populated areas.
You also have the option to overclock, which would certainly improve performance but it comes at the risk of frying your chip if done poorly so I don’t recommend it.
His cpu is fine, gw2’s poor cpu optimization is the problem. 10 years from now, people will still have fps issues with the latest tech and players will be telling them their cpu is too weak to run the game.
Anet needs to do some serious optimizing, to make sure the game scales well with hardware….which at the time it does not.

Can’t both be true? Anet could offer better optimizations + overclocking certain CPU’s yield better performance.

People with Broadwells and skylakes are having more than enough performance.
Sorry, it is not about bad optimization, but bad single core performance and high latency cache, just like your FX.

Even Skylake is dipping well into or below the 30s in heavy zerg situations. I wouldn’t call that more then enough performance

Thats because people are cramping up unnecessary cpu taxing settings. You can play at ultra IQ at 40-45 fps with proper optimized setup and settings.
