I’ll start with my system listing

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz
RAM: 6 GB
GPU:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti
Total available graphics memory 4096 MB
Dedicated graphics memory 2048 MB
Dedicated system memory 0 MB
Shared system memory 2048 MB
Display adapter driver version 9.18.13.2049
Primary monitor resolution 1680×1050
DirectX version DirectX 10

OS Windows 7 Ultimate

So I’m guessing my system isn’t bad so I need help to solve or someone could explain why do I get 15 FPS in Wv3 fight and out of it around 30 FPS.
Shouldn’t I get more?

The game has trouble when lots of players are in your vicinity firing off lots of effects. The game becomes CPU bound due to the number of players present and then the GPU has to deal with all the effects on screen, which with a 660Ti shouldn’t be a problem.

Presently that’s the state of the game. There is little you can do beyond overclocking the CPU to mitigate this problem somewhat. You could also set the WvW character quality to the lowest setting that may help a little bit.

You can also see this problem in PvE events with boss chests like with a dragon, Maw or Fire Elemental for example. It’s not as bad because everyone is attacking a single or few targets and not each other.

While the game is multithreaded, the game uses less than 3 physical CPU cores worth of computational power. Also the rendering thread (actually two closely synchronized threads, one game, one video card driver), like any thread, is limited to the performance of a single physical core. Fortunately you are using a CPU near the top in terms of single core performance. I know this is little consolation.

We are heroes. This is what we do!

15 FPS in heavy WvW isn’t that unusual tbh. Heavily overclocked i5s and i7s can sometimes maintain 30-ish FPS in heavy battles, but even then the framerate isn’t likely to stay decent all the time.

Looking at your graphics settings, turning down the reflections would probably give the biggest single improvement you can get. The “Full” setting basically means drawing almost everything twice, and guessing from the FPS hit, the game often does that even when there’s barely any water around.

I know that more people had this problem in months right after the release but after almost a year I expect from the game to sort some things up.
I’m kinda disappointed, don’t get me wrong I love this game but with all the old and the new bugs and graphic buging new armor buging improvement is only in quantity of mini games and content that keeps players attention for 3-4 days.

I mean Anet do you ask what will happen when games that are long time waited come out, you think players will be satisfied with half done game?

I really want to see this game live for next 2-3 years and I’ll support it as I did by every month now, but staff of Arena Net get real time is ticking away you must fix things like this if you want GW2 to be wanting game to play.
