All maxed out including supersampling my performance can go as low as 20 in pve, in big events, 27 just running around as lowest, and average can be around 40-50-60 and even 70 in some areas. Even more as max FPS perhaps. In wvw I think I got 16 fps as lowest. I’ve tested with 3dmark and i get around 9400-9600 points on my gtx 680 superclocked and i5 2500k 4.2 so nothing wrong on my computer, not on my power plan, not wrong drivers.
So what’s wrong with it? When I drop my gpu usage drops aswell.

Nothing to do with GPU.

This is a MMORPG, historicly these types of games pull mroe performance form your CPU.

GW2 is an extreme case. Noone, even someone with a 3960X OC’d to 5ghz with 2x 690 GPU’s can run GW2 at 60 fps in a WvWvW battle. The game engine just cant handle the information good enough in those situations.

Chances are you have a ‘average’ or lower CPU ..which is why your seeing such bad bottlenecks even though your GPU is more than capable. Check your GPU usuage, i bet its under 20% usuage in WvWvW when you have like 20 fps.

When you aks for help on the tech forums anywhere. .make sure ot post your FULL PC specsheet.

Actually I did give you my CPU, i5 2500k 4.2, please read in the future.

It does not really do that, everything it says is that this issue is at my end which it is not.

I believe you did not completely read it all, and/or do not completely comprehend the explanations, but your answer does exist in that FAQ list.

That list actually address an wide array of scenarios, which are you referring to when you say “it does not really do that”

so my poor performance is like.. normal? so all these ppl claiming to have 30-40 fps in wvw, steady 60-120 fps with no drops in pve are lying? kittening kittens in that case, haha. someone just told me that and had a i5 3570 on stock and gtx 670…

I can hold 60fps on my machine (pve only as I don’t do wvw.) I had to turn down reflections to terrain and sky. I have a 1080p monitor.

Yes, it drops a lot in some areas. As people state many times a day here, nothing can probably be done on our side. OCing did not help much.

The game is totally playable for me on highest settings ( except for reflections.) It’s very smooth in pve.

I did try wvw once. And it was fine when I did it. But once is hardly proof that a good enough machine can manage it.

Some of my friend’s PC are older than mine, and they do just fine – I asked.

So I think there’s hope for people with a decent machine that you can play.

When someone claims X number of FPS it could be subjective. Depends when/where they measured their fps, was it min or avg and they could totally just overestimate from memory. (e.g standing in WvWvW with no one around and getting 30-40fps vs gates with dozen of people attacking is totally different)

Did you look at your CPU% usage for the GW2 thread? Likely its at max for the core its working on. There are people who OC their 2500k even higher to 4.5ghz+ and still have rough time in WvWvW.

If you really read through the linked FAQ list and understood it, then u would have already concluded your performance is rather normal. Yes, it sucks, not what people would expect, but just how the game is coded atm.
