I’ve just bought the game via the website and have downloaded Gw2Setup.exe
When I run the program, it immediately gives me the error
“Guild Wars 2 is unable to access its archive file Local.dat. Please verify that the file is available…”
Plz help me

Did you change the default Document directory to somewhere else??
“C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\Guild Wars 2”

or

Try running the gw2.exe from C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp

  • You might have 3rd party stuff blocking access. Try a clean boot & disabling UAC
  • Try deleting the local.dat file could be corrupted, it will regenerate.

KastroMelo:
you said, that you found the local.dat – did you make sure that it has no write protection?

(go to the folder which contains the local.dat, rightclick on the local.dat, choose “properties” and uncheck the checkbox “write protection”)

Your errormessage is the exact same one, that i got when i experimented with write protection to solve my installation issues, so i hope this helps
