I came home from work and decided to play GW2 since yesterday I did not have a chance. I start it up (I have never had any issues with any previous updates and didn’t know there was another yesterday since I wasn’t on) and it crashed at the beginning of an update. I let it close and relaunched the launcher. This time it crashed at 11% update. 3rd attempt didn’t even make it that far and 4th attempt crashed at 8%. 5th attempt it just launched the launcher black and hung.. and I had to Ctrl+Alt+Del.
Guess I will just play something else … What the heck is going on and what did you guys do in this update that I no longer can play GW2? I am now glad I didn’t yet buy the expansion…
Help? The first crash it just gave a Windows (7) error and closed. The second time it brought up the submit error to Anet so I did that.

I recommend that you uninstall it or disable it from running at startup.
Thank you. While waiting for a reply I noticed that as well. I didn’t get that every time but this last time where I copy pasted it into this post I saw that and I uninstalled “AdAware Web Companion” which I had installed at the end of June. Now I am able to update. Seeing if I can play without crashing now.
