GW2 Hardlock
- What message do you get from the blue screen?
- Do you get any memory dumps?
- Try reseating your last bought hardware
- Take out your ram sticks, dust the off and reseat them. (Your could also try running with one stick. If it works, take it out and try with the next stick. Do this with all of them. If one stick gives the bsod and the other doesn’t. Try with all sticks except the one giving the bsod. If it works, the one memory stick is fried.
- Dust your graphic, cpu etc..

Really see no point of reseatting my ram when i’ve got passes on memtest86+. I posted the bsod code you can’t see it? Like I said I bought this computer all during the sametime I didn’t buy 1 part at a time also this issue only happens in gw2 i’ve put in over 800hrs in other games and yet to see a bsod. Also see no point of dusting off my gpu/fans/cpu heatsink when i’m getting good temps and i’ve cleaned them using my datavac anyway. Thanks for the reply but i wonder if you’ve read my post?

First of all. Memory is a typical problem regarding bsod, and since you didn’t say anything about passing in memtest before now, i made that suggestion.
Second thing. That’s only the error code you get in windows. I wanted the error you see on the bsod. And most important, if you got any memory dump.
Well since you passed on memtest, have you tried reseating any of the other hardware?
You can also take it like this: Did this start to happend after you changed any hardware or after you updated anything?
If you can’t remember, it’s not a problem. It’s more difficult to find the problem, but always possible. Since it’s been going on for about a year it wouldn’t be your graphic drivers (well if you haven’t updated your drivers in a year, it’s possible), so what about the sound drivers or the chipset?

I really don’t see how looking into sound drivers is related to my problem at all…. I don’t want to be running around in circles here. Like I said before this issue is unique to guild wars 2 if I had a sound/memory/etc problem I would have noticed it in other games/general use/testing. I just don’t see why you’re so dead set on me reseatting my hardware cause if I had an issue where the hardware wasn’t seated properly it would have appeared in other games/uses not specifically guild wars 2

Well. It’s up to you. Im just trying to help.
Let me give some examples. I crashed randomly in Diablo 3 with a bsod. It didn’t happend in any other game. The result was reseating my memory blocks.
Call of Duty 4 (Modern Warfare): People got bsod randomly without any other games, application etc gave a bsod. Result was Realtek sound drivers making conflict with CoD4. A update did the trick.
Since the memtest isn’t giving any problems, you can scratch that. Even though your sound isn’t making problems, the drivers could still make conflicts.
Again. Im just trying to suggest options.
BTW. Have you tried the new beta driver for nvidia. I know it’s been going on for a year. But try every possible thing out.

What’s in the zip file you linked?

Searched a bit around for the bccode you had and found something simular to the error you have.
This could be a old graphic driver messing around. Since Guild Wars 2 is pretty sensitive with the graphic drivers, this could be a suggestion.
Uninstall your Nvidia drivers, Install Driver Sweeper or CCleaner. Boot in safe mode and clean your drivers with one of the mentioned tools. Reinstall the new graphic drivers.

The big thing to keep in mind here is that this game is new and the drivers are (frequently) not yet optimized for the game.
I tried to download your BSO dump to read it, but the link does not work. That being said, if you are familiar with under/overclocking, try lowering the voltage of your card. It is the most effective way to lower the temperature of your card without sacrificing performance.
I know you listed temperatures in your post, but the temps you have listed are rather low. Did you mean C instead of F? (I ask because you posted 70F for CPU, which is about 10 C. I’m used to seeing a CPU run no lower than 30 C.)
Edit:
Sorry to harp on temperature, but without the optimized drivers for this game the card can run warmer and have higher usage %’s than what you are used to seeing in other games.

The temps are in Celsius it was a mistake and I think you’re confusing my gpu temps and cpu cause I didnt’ say my cpu was running at 70. Since there was a misunderstanding about the temps I see no point of lowering the voltage when I already just underclock my gpu as a temporary solution

Sorry RoRo. I misread your post in the start about the year. Read it like you have had the problem for about a year (ofc that don’t make sense if it’s only occuring in GW2 ). Loads of people have problems with bsod, black screen crashes and hardlocks with or without the sound stuttering. I hope a patch will fix it soon. It seems like the game is making some kind of overload on even the cpu, gpu og memory which is making the crashes. Like Creature said, the graphic drivers isn’t totally optimized for the game yet (even though it should be better). Did you try the 306 i linked for you ?

Downclock your card by 10-20% and you’ll be able to play just fine. Just a temporary fix until nVidia gets their act together, but it’s been working since the problem first appeared in closed beta.
Make sure to check all your drivers from graphics, to sound, to network. I’ve seen more BSOD due to diver issues than memory.
The reason checking your other drivers makes sense is that various process will access drivers, and while it may appear that one function caused your BSOD, in reality, it may be a sub-process being access, but recognized as a different function. If you were to read your mini dmp’s the are pretty good at nailing the heart of the problem.
You can use: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html BSOD Viewer if you want to look at mini dump files.
Well the bccode like i wrote earlier, points at the graphic card. And after reading a lot about crashes, bsod, total freeze etc etc on the forum. It really points towards a problem with the graphic drivers working together with GW2. It’s the same with ATI cards.

Yep, this is what i am currently doing.
Same here, anyone got a working graphic card to recommend lolz?
