Guild Wars 2

I have a Question about something i didnt found any information on the Support Pages. a Friend of mine wants to play GW2 too, but he couldnt register. The thing is, he lives in Egypt. Im wondering now if GW2 can only be played in the USA, UK, France, Spain and Germany, or also in other Countries like Egypt and such?

I’m pretty sure i encountered some players playing in Egypt.

And btw, I’m from the Philippines, Asian country playing GW2

Should be able to but best they check with the ISP in the country. It all depends if the ports are blocked.
Just to add – I’ve been playing in Oman but its stopped working since 26th Jan and not to sure if it is a bug in the game or the ISP here blocking.

GW2 is split into 2 regions, EU and everything else (NA). There’s also GW2 China, but it’s basically a different game.

Registration can be done for free by clicking the “play for free” button on the side of guildwars2.com. Some non-standard letters are however rejected if you try to use them in the email or account name, which has caused unknown problems in the past. Emails with a dot in them for example are/used to be rejected with an “unknown error” given. Other than that, I suppose they could have banned known/suspected botter IPs from registering. You could try using a VPN or proxy.
