GW2 Setup crashing.
Make sure nothing is interfering with the Coherent.exe program, such as Virus Scanners, Malware, etc. The Trading Post needs that program, though I’m not sure it affects the setup program. I’m sure someone more knowledgeable will come along shortly.
Good luck.
The launcher’s interface uses CoherentUI, which is also why it can freeze if you block it.
Running Gw2Setup.exe downloads Gw2.exe to your %temp% folder and runs it from there, which is why you sometimes can’t just unblock it in your security software.
For starters, rename Gw2Setup.exe to Gw2.exe and place it where you’d like to install the game. For simplicity (and to prevent permission problems), create a folder on your desktop and put Gw2.exe in it, then run it.
If the same error pops up, add Gw2.exe to your security software’s exceptions. You’ll want to look for something called HIPS or something involving execution prevention. If you see a sandboxing feature, disable it. If it has an auto/game/silent mode, disable it so that you’ll actually see the warnings.
