Been having the same problem for about two days now. Saw a few posts that said probably was fixed when they logged in here, so on the off chance that works I thought I’d try it.

I’m having the same problem. Connection error: Retrying. I read that it was supposedly fix, but it is not.

yeah, I don’t understand why some people already can log in, while I still have “connection error(s) detected. retrying…” -__-
Network error disconnects with code 5:11:3:157:101 whenever I try to log into one of my chars that’s parked in Heart of the Mists. Now also infrequent login errors with the launcher… happens since yesterday (Friday), playing in Germany on Kodash

I have the same exact problem. I am unable to login and it says connection error, then the error code sometimes, there are like 3 different screens that come up. I just want to play GW2, because it is an amazing game. I realize that this reply is about 3 months late, but I am only experiencing this now, and don’t know what to do. I just want to be able to play the game, hopefully, I will be able to access the wonderful game within the hour, maybe even the day, if it takes any longer, I don’t know what to do. Please just let me play.

My problem came back. Please fix this. -.-
I have the same problem, but when i connect with WIFI to another network which has no password on it, i can bypass the screen that says “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…”.
This is so weird, yesterday it was working, i logged off for an hour, when i started it up again it said the error. ANET mods please reply with a solution?
I guess since waiting a day didn’t fix anything (like it would of) I should state that every time I launch Guild Wars 2 the message “Connection error(s) detected retrying” comes up before the logon screen does. Help?

I suddenly got the same error this morning (i’m in Europe, +3 GMT time zone). I get:
“Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…
I never had that before. Yesterday it downloaded the new live story update and everything was fine, this morning I get this….must be logon server issues.
PS
OH WOW, I found a solution to my problem. Everyone try this if you have this issue. I’m on ADSL here and basically what I did was disconnect from the router by clicking on the internet access icon, bottom-right corner of screen (win and you’ll get the purple pop out on the right, click disconnect for you access point, and then open Guild Wars 2 again, you’ll get the downloading screen, then I reconnected, it flashed that error again and then in a few seconds it connected just fine!! So there’s definitely some issue with authentication of the networks.
You can do this even if you’re not using ADSL, just unplug your ethernet cable, open GW2, and then reconnect the cable!

I have the same problem :S
For those who may not have AVG Installed, and still have this error message, try the following…
- Open command prompt be sure to ‘’ Run As Administrator’’
- Type in….. “netsh int ip reset”…. without quote marks …Press enter…
- After that type in……“netsh winsock reset”….. without quote marks into the command line …..Press enter
- Restart your computer to finalize the procedure. Then try firing up the client again, be sure to ‘’ Run as Administrator ’’
Good Luck. This worked for me.
