GW2 freezing on loading screen Windows 10
Personally I have had a bad experience with upgrading Win7 to WinX. A fresh clean install sorted out all the issues I had. If I were you I would make sure that ALL drivers are updated for WinX e.g. soundcard, ethernet, wifi etc. Also use DDU to properly uninstall your GPU drivers and freshly install the latest ones for your graphics card. If you have an Nvidia GPU DO NOT install the latest Nvidia drivers as they seem to cause some issues. Try a previous driver version. If nothing works I would just proceed with a fresh clean install of WinX on your system.
Hope I have helped a bit.

I tried all of that. I updated and downgraded the drivers, installed all of these recommended drivers and also did a fresh clean install of Win10, but the problem persists. It doesn’t seem to be a problem related to the drivers, because I am only having this specific problem with gw2, while all the other games run fine.
Last time i had a product from NVidia i had to go back from actual 173.xx drivers
down to 164.xx to get rid of constant blue screens in Age of Conan.
And after all i read in forums over years that quite normal with their driver that
they bring out drivers that don’t work on some systems and then you can spend
days with testing different versions until you maybe find a stable one.
Or get an AMD card ^^
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

Change my graphic card is not an option since I play on a laptop. It doesn’t seem to be a physical problem, I am not getting a blue screen. The game just freezes and doesn`t load the maps, but it goes back to normal if I press crtl+alt+del. Again, this is a problem that I am only having with GW2, all the other games and programs are running great without problems at all.
UPDATE: just solved this problem by disabling the vertical sync or using windowed fullscreen mode.
I fixed it by changing the compatability mode. I am running my version of GW2 on Windows 10 64 Bit and have a NVIDIA graphics card. I’ll run you through the steps:
1. Find the shortcut to GW2 on your desktop
2. Right click and go to properties
3. Go to the compatability tab
4. Check the square for ‘Run this program …’ and select Windows 7
5. Comment back here on your findings.

One of the common Windows 10 issues is drivers, have you downloaded the latest win10 motherboard drivers and chipset drivers if you are using the generic drivers windows 10 installs this is most likely your issue. If the chipset drivers are not the correct driver for the chipset then this will cause issues with the video card drivers. Don’t use one of those craptastic driver install apps, get the drivers straight from the motherboard manufacturer.
put the correct term in but not everyone has kittens

Its nothing to do with that in this case. This is a known bug in Guild wars 2 solved only by the steps mentioned. I will also say this is a workaround and not a fix and Gw2 devs have shown no interest or ability in getting this problem fixed. It has been well documented on here and explained to them several times and nothing has been done. Its a problem only on laptops with Nvidia mobile gpus on Windows 10. Sorry to see that this STILL hasnt been looked at, acknowledged, or fixed.
I am also having this problem and it sucks. I can’t play
