GW2 low preformance
Unfortunately until ArenaNet gets their team together and release optimization patches (and the game needs a lot of them), there’s nothing we can do at the moment.
The game can slaughter the fps on my rig as well.
Intel 520 120GB + 240GB / 2 x WD Caviar Black 1TB (RAID 0) / Corsair AX1200 / ASUS VG278H
Windows 8.1 Pro x64 / ASUS Xonar Essence STX / Sennheiser HD 650 / Logitech Z-5500
Your FPS is normal for that system and this game
GW2 is very unoptimized and even people with high end rigs get underwhelming performance.
Don’t get a new pc for GW2, in it’s current state there is 0 reason to waste the money.

I updated my windows, set the game according to the AMD prefrences GW2 gives, defragged my harddrive, deleted useless programs, and now I have 25 fps avg on high settings so thats a major boost. However i really would prefer a steady 30, if there is any other ways to optimize a PC please let my know, I also heard something about a buggy patch?
Last night I updated my video card (7970 Ghz) and while it was an improvement, I was surprised at how little of an improvement it was.
This morning I messed with things a bit and changing the window from Windowed Fullscreen to Fullscreen netted me a 10-12 fps gain. Also, it appears that the frame limiter is bugged; setting it to 60 fps puts your frames at 50 (and 30 sets it to 25). It’s better to have that disabled at all times and use Vsync instead (or just run things un-throttled).
Now I run at an average of the high-60’s, low-70’s with max settings aside from Anti-Aliasing, Depth Blur and Native Render Sampling (personal preferences).

I think I found the problem , at least on my end – I read in another post about setting the priorities on the task manager to high for gw2. I did that and instantly saw my FPS increase , but then my system was running unstable – my cpu is 3.2mhz …and it’s not enough lol – apparently the event content is taxing the system even more than usual. – So it looks like everyone suffering this lag issue will have to deal with it until the event is over. From the overall look of things, anet isn’t capable of optimizing the software any time soon and they have plans to run these event’s every month. It’s game over…at least for me.
My CPU is adesktop cpu .it runsat 4.6ghz ..and its not enough .Welcome to the fail that is the GW2 game engine
You say ur system runs unstable..by that do u mean it crashes or resets ..or what ? if ur system runs unstable just becouse its being used fully, that means u have a software or hardware issue that u should get fixed.

nah, it’s as ok – at least as ok as it can be with the rash of bad updates from nvidia and adobe ( they are also having issues with shockwave flash effecting performance on browsers ) ..
my system didn’t crash, but I saw cursor get extremely choppy which made it clear to me just how taxing gw2 was behaving. I didn’t freeze, but the system was obviously being overwhelmed with gw2. It’s that same behavior when you run motion blur real time on fx software – which is why some video editing software offer the option to keep it offline till you are ready to render, they know it’s going to tax the system and cause massive lags.
