GW2 on a Thinkpad Yoga 14
the i5 is terrible for gaming. Its a dual core clocked at 1.7 (cause its a ultra low voltage CPU).
the 840M is ok, but with a weak CPU like that it wont matter what GPU you end up with.
You want an i5-M or i7-HQ at a MIN to play this game.

Yeah, I figured I wouldn’t be getting 60 FPS at ultra or anything. As long as it’s playable on medium I’ll be happy. What can I realistically expect?

24 FPS on low settings, is what you can expect, if you get more you’ll be happy.
If you did not buy that laptop yet, then look for something better (maybe a better CPU?). If you did, then it is what it is. the CPU is not upgradable as its soldered to the motherboard (BGA socket)

Lenovo has great deals on Y50s right now. I’m thinking I might just get that, and get a tablet another time.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 10.1" Tablet with Win8.1 (that IS the model name for it LOL), and it will play GW2 at 24fps at 1366×768 on low settings (even subsampling). It will Play GW1 at high details at 1920×1200, funny enough, along with Skyrim on Low(1366), Thief on Low(1366), Left4dead 1 and 2 on Medium(1920). Main issue with this tablet is storage. C: has 32GB, but the MicroSD has 128G. Neither are enough :-)
I bought this tablet for ultra mobile on the go, the fact that I can even get GW2 to load (it errors due to 2GB of ram, but still runs) amazes me. So if your buying a tablet and expecting to play GW2, that is the wrong way to go about it.
Buying a y50 is a better idea, IMHO.
