I’m having the same exact error messages in WvW aswell, I never had any crashes before this latest big update. Obviously it has something to do with the character models, maybe linked to graphics card? Would appreciate somesort of official answer regarding this subject. Especially when playing on tier 1 server, queueing for 1h-2h then play for an hour or so, crash, and requeue.. Really takes the enjoyment out of it.

I’m having the same issue, and several people in my guild are as well. I’m also in T1, and this is a serious problem.

Exactly the same issue. I’ve never had a crash until tonight (1st time playing since the new patch) and I’ve crashed out of WvW 4 times in 2 hours!

I’ve set all the new WvW settings to the very lowest and still crashed out.
I have a HD 7970 graphics card and a core i7 processor.
Loads of people in my guild are having the same problems – but only those with ATI graphics cards. People with Nvidia are completely fine…

Playing in T1, so it’s seriously frustrating getting kicked out 2 minutes into reset tonight.

Similarly to the above posters, I and several of my teammates have experienced random game crashes this evening. I have never experienced game crashes until tonight. Waited through a queue to get into T1 borderlands, was in for about 2 minutes prior to a full client crash, and have been fighting the queue ever since. quad core i5 processor and nVidia graphics. Hope it gets resolved soon!

My wife is also having this issue, had anyone heard anything from Anet?
Update: I pushed the gfx to max resolution WvW loaded no problem.
Moved the settings back to a lower resolution and it crashed trying to go to WvW again.
Hope this helps some of you.

in T1 as well on reset night, and a bunch of my guildies and myself experienced the same bug. seems to be a problem with the patch because none of us ever crashed before. we all sent reports in to anet. cheers.

I have the same problem in WVW…I can play for between 10 mins and an hour or so, and BOOM hard crash to desktop with the little box to send a report.

Crashes seem to be around/in towers or keeps, or when theres a large battle or both.

Attached is my crash report, similar to the ops with a lot of the error messages.

By the way, this problem only started happening AFTER THE 3/26 PATCH.

Update: Because of the ‘memory could not be read’ type error in the crash log, I ran memtest86 against my memory – zero errors. I also run several other games with no crashes whatsoever, and of course the crashes started after 3/26.

Had the same problem, I was in middle of a battle and all of the sudden I get a crash back to my Char screen. Last night same thing happened to a few of my guild mates. They got random crash s also.

I’ve had this issue ever since the update on 3/26, Tuesday. I would always get FPS lag, and higher CPU usage during big fights, but I’d never crash. What I’ve started doing is putting the WvW player quality to the lowest setting, and the Wvw character limit to about medium (both under the graphics section). This seems to have fixed the problem a little bit. I know a lot of you have probably tried it, but I just wanted to throw it out there in case somebody didn’t notices these two new features.

I’ve gotten the same crash quite a few times, and it’s always within a second or two of going into or coming out of the water with a large group. It doesn’t seem to matter for me if it’s in Bay, in the lake, or down by south camp or water camp, but it is ALWAYS in the water.

I would suspect this is related to what is causing models to not load weapons/helm, and still showing breathing masks after they come out of the water.

Same happened to me and – at the same time – about 3-6 others in the zerg since the last patch and till now once or twice every evening.
It happened only in WvW, when coming out of water or going into water and with large groups either inside oder outside the water.

Same issue here, and not only me, but to many guildies the same thing happens almost daily since the WVW March patch. Before the patch there were no issues with these crashes to desktop. We’re a T1 WVW guild on SFR and the queues combined with these crashes make GW2 unplayable for us. We see the attendance of our raids dropping fast.

It’s a gamebreaker Arenanet!

So… happened to me twice tonight. Got to WvW for about 3 minutes each time with an hour in the queue in between, this is easily one of the best features of the culling patch.

We either need a quick rejoin for people that crash due to these stupid errors, or, preferably, a fix. An Anet response would be nice either way though.

I am having the exact same problem and every time it’s when I am near bay.

The error it gives is the exact it gives to the other people here.

Please fix this and the lag spikes, this officially annoys me.

Having the same issue also, going to try the beta drivers for GPU see if that works but it looks like its to do with the new build as it kicks out about 10 other guild members at the exact same time and other guilds have said it is doing it to their members also on world chat, its almost like randomized culling from anet….at least for Deso there are no queues so not too bad just annoying.

We’re working on a solution to this. As a temporary workaround, you can try setting WvW Character Quality to lowest; it may not be the most desirable setting, but it should prevent this particular crash until we can get it resolved.

Also, if you’re consistently seeing the “Assertion: Model has an unexpected compute reference count” crash, could you please post the graphics settings that you’re using?

full map, zerg jumping into the water in dreadfall bay going to cap it → crash
seems like it has to do something with the bay – most times it happens there

I have crashed few times in WvW during last few days. It usually happens when we are sieging a tower.

My suspect no. 1 are graphical drivers, but I may be wrong. These crashes started to appear when I had installed new nVidia drivers version 314.22. So I’ll try to uninstall them (and install the older ones) and I’ll let you know if it solved this problem.

(These new drivers have also some troubles with mesmer’s clones. When I try to shatter them, they have some black-white squares around themselves.)

Easy fix: Remove all water from WvW.Maps will be bigger and no more crash .Win-Win situation. :P

This new bug crash should not to be taken lightly.You need to consider that on t1 servers you need to wait for 1+ hour to get your guild mates inside wvw because queues .It is unnaceptable that you crash and then you will have to wait other 2 hours to reenter a map .For servers that only play wvw this is a major letdown and pve is not an option for us.Please fix this in urgency or at least let us know when you will fix this so we take a vacation.At least the ones that didn’t rage quit already.No point in playing a game where you don’t get to play but only wait wait wait and then crash+ wait some more.Oh and when you do get to play Lag and more lag .You get the ideea i hope some WvW dev really gets into this asap.
