Guild Wars 2

Every time I go to try and fullscreen GW2, the game crashes immediately. If I go into Orr, game crashes.

I look at something shiny, game crashes.

I’ve done a full wipe and reinstall of the last 3 AMD drivers and did a full reinstall of windows 10. Nothing has worked.

To clarify, did you install crimson 16.1 hotfix drivers? If that still crashed, was the other version you tried the 15.7.1 drivers as well?

I have been told 15.12 had issues. I used catalyst 15.7.1 until I recently went to crimson 16.1 (I have an R9 290x).
As a possibility I’ve seen fix similar issues before, try reseating the graphics card.

WIndows 10 in compatibility mode for 7 and 8.

GPU is a XFX HD7770 in CrossFireX, but even with crossfire disable and one one card in the case still happens.

Tried each card individually too :L

Alas, after many uninstalls and reinstalls of my drivers, nothing has helped.

I managed to get the game to go full screen on the character select menu, but now all I get is a black screen that flickers and plays music.

Every other game on my computer runs flawless for me, but Guild Wars 2? Nope.

Looks like my adventures in Tyria are over for a while until I can get this sorted out, or until some new drivers drop.

It’s a known bug in W10,going from windowed mode to fullscreen = crash.

“The bug presents itself in the fast-ring update for Windows 10. These are alpha versions of the OS. The bug exposes itself and appears when the user will go from windowed mode towards full-screen mode. Numerous games will then crash completely.”

oh is there some specific reason to run it in compatibility mode? As in, is it providing a benefit or only way it runs? Is it able to run in windowed instead of fullscreen then?
