Game Freeze/Crash to Desktop
I now think i know what is causing it to freeze. The game crash wizard seem to be what is causing the freeze. The game crashes but never shuts down completely because of the crash wizard trying to work, however you can’t get to the crash wizard due to the game screen never closing/minimizing.
This may help, the Arena file.

Well, thanks for nothing guild wars 2 team!! I guess I’ll figure it out on my own or just not play the game.
For the fun of it, I ran memtest for 7 hours last night. No memory errors. Can’t be hardware.
ATM, Crashes is a very common problem for a lot of people. Crashes, Black screen, BSOD etc etc. is the most typical thing for GW2 right now. Did you try changing the Anti-Aliasing the GW2 team postet on the forum? :

If you did that, try disabling “Character Animation” and “High res textures” ingame.

I already have AA set to “let application decide”. i will try the other two and post the results later.
Thanks for the suggestions Tjynde.
Assertion: *bucket == block

That from your log sounds suspiciously like either a memory problem or running out of memory. With 8GB of physical RAM, I find this remarkable, and none of the numbers in the log suggest you were running low.
However, that log shows a lot of access violation crashes as well, which is more like a typical crash. The addresses it’s failing to write to are pretty consistent too, and not the usual NULL dereference. Intriguing, but without any other information, not much to go on.

I know right? I ran memtest for 7 hours last night, and no errors. It might be the way the game handles memory, don’t you think?
Ok, I made the Texture and Animation changes. I lowered both. The game has run stable for almost 3 hours. No crash. I’ll test it more later.
Can it be a problem with memory on videocard? Are you playing other GPU demanding games with big textures?
I play SWTOR at max graphics. I get about 70-90 FPS on it. Never any problems.
