Q:

I have this game installed on my desktop and laptop. Laptop has no issues loading the game. Desktop has issues. When I run as administrator, the Launcher looks like it is trying to start up, but just stays that way. I get the same message every time. “Connection Error…. Retrying” I’m running Windows 7 with a 64 bit Operating System. I have 8 G of Ram. I have an NVIDIA GeForce GT220 Graphics card. What can I do to fix this Launcher issue?

Try deleting the local.dat file that normally resides in the Guild Wars 2 user documents folder. I would also make sure that your desktop has internet access.

If that didn’t fix your issue, I would change the language in the corner of the launcher to ‘German’ and see if it starts the download.

Other than that, I’m not really sure how to help. Your best bet is to probably create a support ticket to have ArenaNet try and resolve the issue.

Hi Draegaar – Do you have any security software currently enabled? That’s generally the main cause for this error message aside from unsupported connection methods such as mobile or satellite.
