Since the latest patch (8/13/13) I sign into the game, get to character select, and then when the map starts to load, my computer spontaneously restarts. I have run -repair, but the same thing occurs. This is true for characters in various locations of the game world as well.
Could you post your complete system specs including OS and power supply unit?
Also, do you have software to check/monitor your CPU and GPU temps?
This is just to start.

I do have software monitoring my temperatures of both processor and GPU. There are no spikes or sudden raises of either.

Just to give an update, I am now running the latest video drivers for my card (326.41) and ran a checkdisk. No Errors found, same result. I can select a character and the computer restarts while loading the map.
Glad you have the latest drivers now, but they don’t typically cause the issue you are having.
Typically, this issue is caused by inadequate power supply, faulty hardware, or overheating.
I can’t seem to find your power supply unit listed above, for your vid card, it recommends a min 450w. I couldn’t find much on your system, but if you added anything to it or upgraded or overclocked, you may be suffering from inadequate power.
Is your CPU overclocked at all?
Maybe run a memtest.
Or try updating your bios.
Post back with any further updates.

please go into event viewer and view the log (can beleive NO ONE SUGGEST THIS FIRST ><) it should have some critical errors recorded, need their information. (if your want, you could prob google those codes yourself and find the fix, but thats dependent on personal ability)
while your waiting on the response, try to uninstall and re-install the game (seriously, such simple options and answers, yet no one resort to these first event though it’ll tell you almost exactly whats going on, though some interpretation may be needed)

He didn’t say it was a bluescreen error. Event viewer would help, in that case.
It really sounds like a bad power supply; but other defective hardware could cause this.
Smells like faulty HDD or corrupted sector. Disk check.
