Since a patch from last week the game crashes in quite a destructive way for me.
It freezes not only GW2 but also my entire system, forcing me to restart it manually.
This only happens while playing GW2, I’ve tried 5 other games, they run normally, this makes me believe it has to do with Guild Wars 2.
Step by step description of the problem:
I can boot GW2 just fine, the client checks(and downloads) updates.
The game launches, I can look at all my characters and select one to play.
A map loads, taking it’s sweet time as usual.
The map has loaded and I can play, I can move around, attack stuff, everything is fine.
Then suddenly, somewhere in between 10 seconds and 2 minutes, my entire system freezes.
I can’t take any action, Alt Tab a no-go, press Alt Ctrl Del all I want to no avail, it’s completely stuck
Actions I have taken in an attempt to solve this problem:
- Updating graphics drivers
- A Virus scan
- CCleaner scan and sweep
System Specs:
Win 8 64-bit
Intel Core i5-3470 (3.2GHz)
8,0GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
Graphics driver version: 350.12 WHQL
I have searched in X:\Users\[name]\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2 but have found no crash dumps.
I have run out of things to try myself and now turn to the forums in the hope of finding a solution here.
Hopefully I have included all the information you need, if here is more you need then please give me a reply, I will add it as soon as possible.

try rolling back to this driver
337.88-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-english-whql
Note: I am not tech support, so do so at your own risk, but I can’t really see a risk it’s simply an earlier driver.
However, it has worked for me so far. Also, turn off auto-updates in Geforce Experience.

I’ll give it a try.

C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2
I forgot to mention, I also went to this folder and deleted my Corrupt files (they’re marked corrupt) and then repaired the client.

The older driver fixed the freezing ankitten ow able to play normally, it’s kind okittenward to be stuck with a driver but I will deal with it…for now.
Thanks for the help.
