Ever since the update hit, I would only be able to run the game for a few minutes before the screen goes black and my computer starts beeping without restarting. I would have to turn it off and on again to get it working.

After rebooting, windows 7 would give me the improper shutdown message with bccode 116. Looking it up, people mentioned it must be my temperatures or my drivers.

I have not changed anything in my computer and it has been working with this game for months until now. Playing other games doesn’t cause this problem. My temperatures are fine since my computer is water cooled including my video card.

I have updated my drivers but the problem still persists. I know how to wipe my old drivers before installing so that isn’t the problem either. Please help.

Try to count how many beeps your computer does, and contact your manufacturer/microsoft to know the meaning.
Example : 3 long beeps means you first 64Kb of ram are damaged.

I tell you this because that’s what happened to me, I didn’t had any beeps at restart but, my ram was damaged, and yes only gw2 was unplayable ( from 7 min of gaming to 30, and then crash ), don’t know if the ram was already damaged or what ( it had 10 days of life lol )

If this is the case you can run a memcheck to see if you need to replace them ( maybe you have 2 block of ram and only one of them is damaged ), if you don’t know any program you can try a live cd of Linux ( ubuntu is user-friendly )

Didn’t want to have to check but after testing everything else, I decided to dig out my memtest 86+ disc and test it. You were right. Problem now is that my system is running on 6 sticks of ram on triple channel and those things are very finicky with what they want to work with. I would have to rma the whole set just to make sure that they at least have the same batch. Thanks for the reply.
