After running the game fine for a few hours it will suddenly freeze and I have to do a hard reset to be able to use my computer again, music will still play but i cant alt tab or do anything on my computer after it freezes so im just wondering if anyone else is having this problem or if its just me :p currently running Windows vista 32bit

Well, since apparently your entire computer freezes, I highly doubt it will be caused by the game, to be honest.. Anything out of the ordinary that you can see when checking the event viewer?

I am having the same issue, it just started today. Running Windows 7, 64 bit, 4gb RAM. Graphics all lowest, no shadows.

So far, I’ve managed to consistently trigger it about 3 mins in by loading into a crowded TTS map and being on Teamspeak at the same time (tested x10), lasted about 10 mins in a TTS map without Teamspeak running, and have lasted 30-45 minutes sitting in Lion’s Arch before the whole computer freezes (x2) and taken all from the TP once, collecting a whole bunch of sigils, upon which it froze (barely 2 mins into loading into LA from the last hard reset.)

Feels like some kind of memory leak maybe?

Jero I agree I think it may be a memory leak issue, turned on task manager and looked at my memory while the game was running and it was almost at max capacity being used at all times, I’ll try to see if I can replicate it in high intensity situations like yours since it seems to happen randomly with mine- I can be in slightly low pop maps and it will still freeze and Tribio I looked for the event log under documents and under My Computer/gw2 but I didnt see it anywhere…Just hope this issue gets looked at/fixed soon

I am getting the same issue here as well. Only difference in addition to game freeze m sound gets choppy and stuck on “repeat” sounds very jagged. Can only fix with hard-reset. It also seems to happen more frequently when im on TS but it can also happen when I am not (just takes longer).

I am not alone. My brother and my friend are both having this issue as well. I will be back to post my specs but for now just wanted to post so people are aware. Anet you really need to fix this.

Please note this problem has been happening for me, my brother, my friend, various guild mates SINCE RELEASE. Occasionally with certain patches it might go away. Then it comes back. Now its getting even worse! You need to fix this! I am certain if its affecting so many players in my circle then it must be affecting many other players too.

Note I also can’t generate any type of bug report because of the nature of the hard reset the game doesn’t even know it crashed or that anything went wrong. (or at least I don’t know how to collect it if no bug report dialogue doesn’t pop up).

What are you system specs, the main issue with this game is that It needs at least 3GB of ram to run correctly you may need to install the 64bit version of your OS to solve this issue the 32 bit version only allows 3.5GB of ram for apps and programs the 64bit version will allow up to 8GB of ram to apps and programs so if you have to much stuff running in the background it will kill the game if posable upgrade to Windows7 64 bit Vista just sucks anyway. If that’s not posable for you then get the 64bit version of vista your product key will work on both version of vista So you don’t have to buy a new one
