Hello!

Starting today, the game occasionally freezes after taking a screenshot, forcing me to ALT+F4 and restart it.

This doesn’t happen every time I take a screenshot, but it is very annoying when it does happen (about 1 out of 4).

I’ve never had a problem with taking screenshots and I’ve made over 7,000 so far. Is it likely that it’s related to the latest patch, or do you think it has something to do with my system (which hasn’t changed [apart the latest catalyst beta driver now that I think of it]).

Any help would be much obliged.

I got this exact same issue, sometimes my game just freezes when I take an screenshot (the sound still works). If you found any workaround please post it!

Same problem. Got blue screen 2 times when taking screen shots. Somtimes it just freezes and unfreez when you go to task and somtimes its perma freez or bluescreen.

starting having this problem too since latest patch, i’m also using the latest ATI drivers 13.2 beta 3 …are you guys using them?

screen shotting doesn’t always crash it but sometimes it does and the game gfx will flicker but the game will still run. i have to quit the game as i cant see.

I had exactly that issue Leki. I simply used Windows’ System Restore to go back to the previous version of AMD/ATI Catalyst, and that fixed the problem for me.

Well older versions of drivers have flicerking and kittentering in most cases so thats not an option… just use things like fraps. It works for me.

I almost never use a beta version of catalyst :P Gives me only problems. I’m now using 13.1, and looks nice.

I was thinking that the prolems like these born when 2 applications like fraps and gw2 contrast when push print to take the screen.
If the button screen for the application is print like gw2 , is possible to make the sistem crash.

But you’re saying that is a graphic driver problema? yesterday i tried the same experience : bluescreen at the third consecutive screen in movement -.-
i’m using amd 13.2 beta4 !!! maybe is a thing that we should say ( guru3d)

It’s definitely a driver problem.

Since 13.2, screenshots, Fraps, or any other “recording” functions cause hardlock and sometimes system reboots.

Roll back to 13.1 if you need to Screenshot/record video.

I reported it to AMD, but we’ll see if they fix it.

Don’t try to do videos !

I’ve been having this problem, but it coincided with my use of the “-bmp” command, so I had assumed it was related. It was also around the time I installed the new 13.2 beta drivers.

Of course, mine could be a different problem entirely, since I’m almost always able to fix mine with Alt-Tab.

I’m having this problem. It started yesterday, when I installed my new video card, AMD Radeon HD 7950. It freezes every time I take screenshots too quickly in a row, such as a few seconds apart. One screenshot on its own does not cause a problem. It only seems to BSOD sometimes. Here’s what I’ve tried:

- Updating to the Catalyst 13.1 drivers
- Updating my mobo chipset drivers
- Updating my net frame work
- Changing my in-game graphics settings (lowering them, raising them)

My partner bought the same, identical graphics card, and isn’t having any problems. We even swapped cards, and his computer is still working fine, so it’s something with my computer.

Any tips, suggestions, etc.?

Update: I just tried updating my BIOS, and that didn’t help, either.

Update: I rolled back to the Catalyst 12.11 drivers and it seems to have fixed it. Just took 20 screen shots in a row with no freezes. =)

think it’s the catalyst beta driver..

When my game freezes Alt+tab to windows then back will stop the freeze.
