Guild Wars 2

I’m hoping someone can help. Earlier this well I picked up a used pc so that my fiance could get into gaming. The specs should all meet GW2 requirements
win 7 32 bit ultimate
4 go ram
nvidia 8800 gt

I installed the game but when loading it up it loads but once at the toon select screen it freezes up. I can’t work out why it would freeze. I’ve updated graphics card drivers.

Any suggestions anyone might have would be greatly appreciated.

Since it’s a used PC, you have no way of knowing if the OS is damaged or working correctly.

I recommend that you reformat and reinstall windows (use the 64 bit version since you have 4 gig of RAM).

Anytime someone gives me a used PC, I always format it to start fresh.

It wouldn’t hurt to invest in a little more RAM too, since Windows will take up some of that 4gb of Ram. Even if it’s only 2GB more, it’ll make a big difference.

Your current GPU also only meets min. requirements for Guild Wars 2, so, if you’re able, it wouldn’t hurt to invest in a slightly better one, especially if the plan is to get your fiancé into gaming.
