Guild Wars 2

I am posting for my friend because she is currently doing a system restore to try to get back into the game. We were waiting at Teq and decided to restart and patch so we wouldn’t be in an empty map. My patch went through fine but hers started download over 30k files like it was downloading the whole game. Now she won’t be able to play at all tonight. Anyone know what is going on? It seems it has happened to few people randomly.

This is happening to me too. I don’t know what happened with our games.

Yeah it’s very frustrating. She said her friend has had to re-download the entire game every patch since it first happened so I hope that doesn’t happen to her. If anyone has any tips, please let me know.

The same thing is happening to me right now. so this was the last thing I wanted to spend my free time doing, hope they fix it soon.

Same here and im on a satellite internet took me days to download it before =(

Downloaded GW2 last May 2nd 2016 opened the game a while back and it was downloading all things all over again. I wonder what went wrong and maybe it would happen again next time. Any thoughts or maybe someone else encountered the same problem, what did you guys do?

Last night i just quit game to go to sleep and this morning client asks for installation and re downloading the whole stuff again

Quick question for everyone, yesterday GW2 (HoT) was running just fine on my laptop. Today, I log in on my client and the game starts to update/download, then shows that the files remaining are more than 350k, so I’m like wait a second there has to be a huge update, but I check the GW2 folder, and the .dat file isn’t even there anymore…

Any thoughts as to what might have happened? (No I didn’t delete the file by mistake…)

There has been an update yesterday night, maybe they broke something even though unlikely.

If the launcher is stuck like this, maybe try to reinstall the game.
I know, a lot of GB’s

It’s happening to me as well. I was able to play last two days, but I have absolutely no Directory for the game as if it weren’t installed! And I played it! Killed Mordremoth and all! xD
Now it asked me a directory to install it again (first time that happens at least) so let’s see now if it stays there… Very weird.

Hey guys, I’m going through with a re-download of everything after this issue happened to me as well. The .dat disappeared completely from my GW2 folder on its own… So even if they fix the issue, I doubt that all of a sudden the file will reappear out of thin air…

Let us know if by some miracle this issue is resolved without the re-download!

hey guys last night coming pacth last downloading pacth and in game later out game go to sleeping morning open my pc click gw2 cilent update litle pacth done later missing main gane folder and re downloading all game why ? 30 gb again help me pls thanks

It appears to be happening to a lot of ppl, me included something in the patch wasn’t right I guess. I downloaded the patch, turned off the pc, did a few errands, came home to play and it started the downloading of the entire game again…so I am just waiting

It’s happening to several people, not just you ThoR. It is happening to me as well. I am downloading the entire client still myself.

I had just redownloaded the game and then the patch hit. It then asked me to install the game, which I had just done the day before.
Anyways, I deleted the files and every shortcut/exe of gw2 and redownloaded it.
Then I installed it and it works now.
One thing. I downloaded the exe from the account page to my downloads folder. When I started the install it created empty files in the downloads folder and also in my install folder I selected, and started downloading to the right folder/files.
Seems a bit weird that it creates empty files in the folder you downloaded the exe to.

wow – I reinstall to play wvw again after the desert borderlands make it back and now I have to reinstall all the 30Gs of useless things everytime I want to play WvW.
